Last I heard, Schthack had kind of folded due to various administrative drama, but I'd thought that was quite a while before last December, so maybe it's restabilized. Either way, Schthack was a private server for the game that worked for several different versions. If you look it up, it should have instructions for hooking up your GC and playing on it.

I know it was propaganda, so I don't know the accuracy for sure, but, at 40:40. "During WW1, knowing the allies would win, Japan declared war on Germany" I guess implying that they took the side that would help them build their empire.
I love Japan btw, but it was an interesting thing to watch despite being culturally insensitive.

I watched a documentary from 1945 called "Know your enemy: Japan" was released right before the U.S nuked them. One of the things outlined in the documentary was that Japan had befriended the West, sent immigrants etc. so they could eventually build their resources and attack, was part of the Bushido Code, befriending and then eventually backstabbing and gaining control using all the power gained from your allies.

That's probably the scariest and most effective way to make a Nation powerful. At least we know Russia sucks.

What you're describing is pretty much exactly Hitler's army during WW2. Crystal Meth was invented by the Nazis and could be bought in German stores back then. Was called Pervitin. Allied soldiers were worried that the Axis soldiers could fight for days straight with no sleep because German soldiers were always high on Pervitin. The concentartion camps were used to experiment on people for scientifiic advancement, etc.

With North Korea, if they're essentially Hitler's army from WW2, I would hope they'd probably get annihilated with modern technology. Even the Axis could hit their targets with their missiles though, and I think they even did a successful launch into space. I think NK army could still even be weaker than 1940s Germany.

I never really bothered with the DLC in Alien Isolation, but I remember one of them being about the crew from the first Alien movie which is kinda neat.

I got all the Achievements in the Xbox One version. The Achievement when you had to complete the whole game without dying once was a pain though.

Yes, I got the platinum trophy on PS4.
Beating the game without dying and the collectibles were annoying IMO.

If you haven't played System Shock 2 you should, it does everything Doom 3 tried to do but better. I appreciated Doom 3 but it was the only game to ever actually wear out my nerves, the non stop jump scares were too much to handle in large sides and the story didn't really expand much more on the whole 'delved too greedily and too deep'.

I actually have both System Shock games in my backlog. Your post makes me wanna play it even more lol.

@LeetCheet I'm moving on to the DLC tonight. I wonder if any of the DLC moves on from the damned cliffhanger ending?

I think it did the whole " sci-fi horror explore facility that was overrun with evil and look at files of employees who died" concept better than other games did. Bioshock was another game like it, but it was too goofy. I'm playing Alien: Isolation right now, and I love it as something in the Alien franchise, but made me wish I was playing Doom 3 tbh. The gameplay in Alien is annoying.
Doom 3 got hate for not being like Doom 1 and 2, but I thought it was a really good horror/exploration game.

I always use my headphones on my PS3. I have stereo speakers that I hook up the PS3 RCA cables to, then put headphones in the headphone jack. Always sounds great.

I dunno if there's any other way on PS3. With PS4 I know it's possible. I just hook up my headphones to the controller, and my headphones double as a mic too so I can have both good game, movie etc. sound and talk to people online. Same can happen with Bluetooth headset.
