Fueling a rocket is the last thing you want to do, because a fueled rocket is dangerous. There are tons of checks that go into making sure a rocket is ready to launch and won't explode. Plus you can't launch a rocket anywhere near where people live so you have to ship people to the rocket which takes time. I agree that rockets being used for intercity travel aren't happening anytime soon (if ever), but Musk was planning to use those rockets for all kinds of things. Missions to orbit, the moon and even Mars. --- Maybe I've changed and everyone else has changed, but you haven't changed, so you're the one who's changed, because it's all relative!
