Topic | Now that those cops are under arrest, the riots stopped. Right? |
BGleason22 05/29/20 6:53:59 PM #6 | Nope. With curfews in effect in Minneapolis and St. Paul at 8pm, the violence will spread to the suburbs. Anyone out after 8pm besides emergency personnel and those going to and from work are subject to arrest. I know of at least one plan of 'protests' in Bloomington at 8pm with the assumed goal of bringing it to the Mall of America. |

Topic | Just remember: You can rebuild property. |
BGleason22 05/29/20 10:46:05 AM #10 | Here's a quick example of why this topic misses the mark. One of the businesses that was looted and destroyed was owned by a relative. It was an auto shop. Insurance will cover what happened to the structure of the building. It will not cover the loss of personal property (mechanics tools, customer vehicles, etc.) This will be a total loss to the business, they will not recover, they will not reopen. After all is said and done, the relative, who spent 20 years building this business will have not only lost everything, but so will all the employees. There are over 170+ businesses that have been affected by the looting. The majority of them are small business owners that will potentially lose everything. Innocent lives are being destroyed. Commenting that you can just rebuild property is utterly naive. |
Topic | The BBQ spot provided cocktail sauce as a condiment with my ribs... |
BGleason22 05/23/20 9:56:46 PM #2 | Meh, horseradish is good with roast beef, I'd imagine that cocktail sauce would be pretty decent as well as it's basically horseradish and ketchup and lemon juice. |
Topic | So how long till a war with China? |
BGleason22 05/03/20 2:20:42 AM #55 | TrowaBarton7 posted... China owns $1.1 trillion of US Treasuries. I don't think you understand what that means. It would hurt the Chinese economy 100 fold what it would hurt the US economy if China dumped those bonds. China needs their RMB to be weak for their economy to work. Edit: For good or bad, China literally has to continue to purchase US debt in order to maintain it's own economy. It's a win-win scenario for both countries. Anyone thinking either side is more or less dependent on the other doesn't understand what they are talking about. |
