Rogue-likes have definitely been my favorite genre for the past decade or so. I just wish I had the time to play all the ones in my backlog. No joke, but there are probably 50+ of them sitting in there, waiting to be played one day, including some real bangers (like Tiny Rogues, Cobalt Core, Nova Drift, Against the Storm, Noita, Astrea, Gunfire Reborn, BPM, Vagante, Wizard of Legend...)

Got the game last night, and after putting a couple hours into it, I can safely say that I am glad I didn't pay more than $10 for it

First impressions:
Running is frustrating - once you choose a direction to run, you can only go that way, and any movement of the stick forces you into a complete stop.

Tope controls are always Grapple+Highstrike and Run+Kick. So if you change them, be prepared for some awkward button combinations to pull them off (ex: changing grapple from X to Circle forces the Tope to become Square+Circle)

Finishers are too easy to acquire. Within 2 minutes, you should already have your meter charged for a finisher. This wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that finishers are also incredibly powerful and will almost always end the match. I think I did 10 matches, with 9 of them ending in under 5 minutes. The only one that went past the 10-minute mark was a tag match, and that had it's own issues (MJF just watching on as I got pinned). So unless you are playing with friends, long matches seem impossible. Once the computer hits a finisher, they will go for the pin. This isn't like AEW tv where a match can have a dozen false-finishes.

Pinfalls are bullshit. I'll admit that I'm not as good as button mashing as I used to be, but if that's how pinfalls are to be kicked out of, that's fine. What the game needs, however, is a meter to show you how close you are to the actual kickout. That way, if my button spamming only puts me 50% of the way towards a kickout after the 2-count, I can stop trying to vibrate my fingers through the controller.

On the subject of pins, the desperation pinfall is too overpowered. As Adam Cole, I pulled off two consecutive finishers off of a single charge (Boom + Panama sunrise), and as I was going for the pin, the opponent was able to do a "desperation" rollup for the win. Pretty sure I was near full-health too.

I played it years ago, when it was in early access, clocking close to ~100 hours into a single settlement. Ended up quitting after a save corruption caused me to lose everything (this was before it had cloud saves)

The biggest issue back then was heat-management. Clean water, as well, but you could create multi-layer "tanks" to filter it (but put off a lot of heat). I had plans to move the system over to the ice-region, but didn't quite manage before the lost save. I have thought about returning to it though.

Saw it earlier today, and grabbed it thinking it was a price glitch. Sold out now though

DLC is a bit pricey, so hoping it will go down eventually (especially the Swerve and Acclaimed packs)
