Gameplay is more than combat, but even though the combat is good its not as good as say the story, quest structure, open world, the dialogue and the many other things that make the Witcher 3 the best game ever made. The only legit criticism of the game is that the horse traversal is often off kilter, but its manageable.The general movement is terrible too.
