Which, I suppose, means that by definition you also think it's horseshit, whether you like it or not, because you're me. Or, conversely, you're not me, in which case it's objectively horseshit.

Ah, interesting rebuttal. But what if I become you, then your way of thinking (memories, personality, and all that) becomes mine?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_individualism

In the philiosophy of self, Open indvidualism basically states there is only one subject/consciousness/self who is everyone at all times in the past, present, or future. It basically means that "reincarnation" happens, but "I" will eventually become "you", and "you" will eventually become "me", and "we" will eventually become other conscious entities - the order doesn't matter with respect to time.

What do you guys think of the idea of Open Individualism?

I've actually thought about this idea in the past as a solution to the "vertiginous question":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertiginous_question

...about why it seems why only one consciousness ("mine", or from your perspective, "yours") is "live" at a time. I just didn't know what it's called until today. It's a pretty interesting idea with many implications (example: if you hurt others, you are just hurting yourself.)

I've used binary and hex for computer stuff. But I'm not fully fluent in either off the top of my head so if I need to use them I'll usually use a conversion app.

And most of us use Base 12 in our daily lives without realizing it. Because it was the main system for the Babylonians, which led to multiple aspects of how we perceive the world culturally. It's why we have 24-hour days, 60 minutes in an hour (and 60 seconds in a minute), 12 months, 12 signs of the zodiac, 360 degrees in a circle, and so on.

Ah yeah, you're right regarding base-twelve!

Have you ever used a number system other than base-ten or decimal?

The number system used by almost all human cultures is called base-ten or decimal. There are ten digits (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0) which each represent a power of ten such as 1, ten, a hundred, a thousand, a tenth, and etc. The best explanation for why this is so is because humans have ten fingers.

However, there are other ways of writing numbers. Binary or base-2 uses only two digits (0 and 1) to represent powers of 2 such as 1, 2, 4, 8, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc. This is often used in computers. Computers also have stuff encoded in base-sixteen, sixteen being a power of 2.

One notable system is base-twelve (or the dozenal system) that is being advocated due to twelve having many divisors (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and twelve/dozen itself.)

For example:

Fraction: 1/2 of the U.S. population likes chocolate.

Decimal: 0.5 of U.S. population likes chocolate.

Percentage: 50% of the U.S. population like chocolate.

Ratio: 1 out of 2 people in the U.S. like chocolate.

I personally use fractions the most, but I have a feeling most like percentages.

-When the gameplay and cutscenes conflict each other logically. (example: Cloud or whoever the hero is can survive bullets in a random encounter but he's helpless when a gun is held to head in a cutscene.)

-Inaccurate portrayal of governmental systems (not just monarchies but republics as well. Tales of Graces is an example of this.)

-And speaking of monarchies, I'm also a little peeved at their prevalence in fantasy RPGs.

My answers:

#1 is tough for me. I love the spiciness of Popeye's Spicy, but KFC is no slouch when it comes to flavor, too! I ultimately picked KFC.

#2 Original is where KFC shines. Crispy just doesn't cut it.

#3 Spicy most definitely. Gotta have that Cayenne Pepper kick.

No. Given that I live in a country where civilians dont have guns, it seems like overkill.

Theres several other factors, such as the fact that my building has 24 hour security guards, that theres several doors with a combination of electronic and physical locks that an intruder would have to bypass. Or the fact that I have a dog. Or the fact that the average man here is 54 and Im 63, 210 pounds and can handle myself pretty well.
