During the first few weeks I coped by finishing most days getting drunk/intoxicated. Recently I seem to be cutting back, and I shifted my coping mechanisms to good ol' gaming and deeding.

As for stuff that can be considered meaningful and/or productive, I try to take good care of my two cats, and I still have enough motivation to do my best at work, though I can't help but feel like it's kind of a dead-end.

Honestly this. I think she'd do alright as POTUS, but there's no way she'd get elected (unless the Reps nominate a candidate who is even less interesting). Based on the various reactions and motivations I've see from voters this election, most voters barely pay attention to policy and track records at all. It's really about saying eye-catching stuff that can be summarized in a four-line social media post or 30 second video.

I wouldn't have thought so at first, but tbh I think at this point AOC stands more of a chance than Harris, so the Dems might as well put her forward, especially since quite a lot of voters seriously somehow seem to think she and Trump stand for the same things. Win-win for everyone.

I buy that more than a few have concerns. If trump was to actually impose tariffs universally, that will cause them pain. And if trump was to pull Ukraine support and weaken NATO, that would also be bad for them.

They most definitely knew that he is intending to do that though. This cannot be surprising to them.

Good to know: every mod requires a (clean) install of the base DDLC game (the one from the official site ddlc.moe , not Steam, that has been known to cause problems). I highly recommend you start with the mod Blue Skies. It's quite therapeutic and has some fulfilling routes that have the potential of getting the girls the help and love they sorely need (although sadly it doesn't have a Monika route).

Depending on who is your favorite and what kind of stuff you like about DDLC, I can also recommed other mods if you like.

Sounds a lot like how I felt when I first played it. It was my first introduction to DDLC, and after a much-needed period of mental recovery, I found myself hungry for more. Be sure to check r/DDLCmods on Reddit. It has literally hundreds of mods, which really help satisfying that need to see all the club members get the good ending they all deserve, in so many different ways.

Concerning the additional content, I don't really pay much mind to the e-mails, but I absolutely love the side stories. In my headcanon, they take place before Monika's epiphany and we see a side of her where she legitimately cared about the other girls. Amazing CG art too.

Considering there are people who support both her and Trump, I'd say it's an indicator it doesn't matter what you do, know or support. It's just about what you say, regardless of whether or not that's the way things work. She happens to say the right things that actually make sense as it can be backed up and substantiated. He happens to say the right things, and that's it. The average voter doesn't know or care enough if someone's statements can actually be carried out or what the consequences are. Just as long as it sounds good.

If she wasn't a latina woman, I'd say she'd actually stand a good chance if she'd run.

Sometimes I use the non-alcoholic kind. Mostly on the rare occasion I draw blood when flossing/toothpicking.

This matter is one of the main reasons why I pretty much lost hope at this point. Climate change was already pressing enough as it is, and it was already looking like it was gonna be bad, but maybe manageable. Now that it's certain that Trump is gonna be POTUS and the Reps have the upper hand on every level, on top of (climate change denying) populist right-wing governments getting elected all over the place, and any U.N. agreements concerning the environment being non-mandatory, I'm pretty much convinced that humanity is on a downward spiral from here on out.

At this point I can sooner believe Dems (and any significant political party really) to grow more towards "well, obviously voters can't be trusted to do the right thing, so let's just be populistic and tell them what they want to hear while we just do what we think needs to be done" than Dems getting elected in anything like their current state. Which is why have kind of lost hope in general.

I would not deliberately obstruct their ability to vote, but I definitely won't do anything to facilitate it either.

I'll feel slightly relieved if Harris wins, but still tense as Trump will undoubtedly try to actively to stir shit up at least until Inauguration Day, and even after that, I'm sure he will continue to cause trouble as long as he's physically capable of doing so.

These are all moo points considering Trump is infinitely worse in every way, and every choice that isn't a vote for Harris (including voting third party or not voting at all) effectively works in Trump's favor.
The only valid excuse for not voting at this point is if you're not eligible to do so.

Rain he was closer to. Lightning black and white, Rain Grey and white. I know they miss litter mates soon after. He would cuddle up on my lap most of the time. I think it faded. Dang, that really sucks. It can be so unpredictable how a can just suddenly decide to dart off just like that. That's also one of the reasons why I never let cats run loose outside. I'm super paranoid that something scares them to the point of running away, or that they get hurt or something. If I let them outside, it's always on a leash.

Day 3 of the recovery:
I must admit, it's both sad and cute how Meera and Yuri awkwardly go through the day with their cones. Like sometimes I see them trying to scratch an itch on their head or neck, but they can't reach because of the cone, so then I help them by scratching the spot they're trying to reach, and then they loudly purr with this intense look of relief.

With (social) media and the advertisement industry being omni-present as they are, especially in the U.S., I honestly fear it's too late.

TC Tux cats are the best. My boy Lightning has been through it all with me. Loss of Both friends, 2 moves, through all my health problems. He lost both his brothers at a early age, Rain and Thunder. I wonder if he stills remembers them. He also had a older female "roommate" for a few years. My dad joked and said he's gone through similar life experience you have.

I wonder how Lightning took it when he lost his brothers at the time. I'm guessing if it happened when they were very young he likely would've adapted to the sudden change more easily.

My two kitty girls (Meera and Yuri) actually have another sister. Ideally I would've adopted all three of them, but considering I live alone and my apartment is not too big, I decided that two cats was the maximum I could properly care for, reaslistically.
Choosing between them was very hard, but I have to admit that one deciding reason was the fact that the third cat was fully black (with slightly greener eyes than fully black Meera), and I could tell them apart more easily if one of two I'd adopt had white socks.

Oh it's released already? Nice. I'll wait a while before considering getting it (because user reviews, initial bug fixes, and price drop).

Thanks for the advice so far. I'll keep an eye out those onesies. I guess I could order one, but ordered stuff generally takes about a week to be delivered (in my experience at least, even when a website says it's delivered a day after ordering), and the recovery period takes ten days, so if I'm gonna get one, I better get one locally.

I made a suit for my cat when I had to leave her alone. They're pretty easy to make out of socks, but you need to get the measurements right so it fits well. As others have said, there are other types of cones you can get that might fit better as well.

That's pretty creative and admirable. Unfortunately I absolutely suck at sewing or anything textile-craft-related. I'd very likely end up with a pile of cut-up socks and nothing that fits.

On the other hand, I consulted the vet's office, and they recommend I use a string or something like that to tie through the cone's holes. I've carefully done so with some bandage in a way that it's tight enough to keep the cone in place, but not so tight that it chokes the cats. That seems to be working for now.

Although the vet's office told me that I could keep the cones on the cats for rest of the recovery period (as long as they can eat, drink and use the litter box), although I am thinking I should remove the cones at some point so they can clean themselves properly.

I like Forrest Gump. I've never seen an entire Jurassic Park movie, but I don't really like or care about dinosaurs, at least in movie form.

I had my two cats neutered today. Once I picked them up and brought them home, they immediately tried to lick their surgery mark, so I put those lamp shade cones on them. Obviously they don't like it and they're still getting adjusted as we speak, but it's gotta be done in order for them to recover properly.

However so far I've noticed that both cats have managed to get out of their cone once, and immediately tried to clean and scratch their belly. I can get it back on and it'll stay put for a while, but I'm worried that when I'll be off to work during their recovery period, they'll manage to get their cone off again.

Does anybody have any experience or constructive advice on this matter? The vet's office is closed right now, so I can't contact them for advice at the moment.

Honestly, I wouldn't surprised by anything at this point. Almost everyone who votes Trump/Republican is effectively voting against their own interests. And yet an insane amount of people do it anyway. Because "but not my face, right?"

Although that might still happen, it results in millions (if not billions) more deaths and infected, as opposed to if he would have been either not infected or left behind in the UK.

The two kids who are naturally asymptomatic were rescued by a helicopter, although the boy was infected due to being bitten by his father (played by Robert Carlyle). The final scene shows a group of infected rushing outside with the Eiffel Tower visible in the background, indicating that the virus has reached the mainland.

Personally I think both movies had their moments (especially the opening scene of Weeks), though the virus is just way too contagious and deadly for humanity to stand a chance. Like, even if the boy at the end of Weeks doesn't suffer any symptoms (just like his mother), one sneeze is enough to infect anyone nearby.

I was thinking that if he happens to serve me at McDonalds that I'd like to speak to the manager (especially since Trump will most definitely mess it up), but then I realized it would probably just result in the manager getting fired and both the manager and me receiving death threats.

Definitely. I first played it early this year. When I first heard about it years ago and read what the story was about, I was intrigued by the concept, but I wasn't quite convinced enough to spend money on it. Then earlier this year I heard the Plus version was for free temporarily on Epic, so I got it.

I was so hooked that I got into DDLC mods as well (and I was surprised to see that there is still an active DDLC fan community out there with literally hundreds of mods with stories of pretty much any kind.
And it was then when I learned that the base version of DDLC was available for free all along.

Do note that the game's warnings should be taken seriously, even if you already know some things about the story beforehand. If you're easily shocked or prone to depression, it's honestly better to not play it.
