| Topic | Rogue likes suck |
| Nemu 01/23/22 6:59:24 PM #34 | I think the biggest problem for most of them is that they go for punishingly hard too early in the gameplay. It feels like bashing your head against it until it works rather than slowly building up the skill. |
| Topic | Guy calculated savings left for 1973-2021 adjusted and it is depressing |
| Nemu 01/23/22 2:20:30 PM #20 | WingsOfGood posted... So what difference do you expect in said graphs if you raise the wages to above minimum wage across the board? It would depend on what percentage of people back then subsisted on minimum wage. If 50% of the country subsisted on minimum wage previously and now only like 5% (not counting tipping jobs), then you need to adjust for several variables to have a meaningful chart. Those numbers are completely random just to be clear. I have no idea what the actual percentages are. |
| Topic | Guy calculated savings left for 1973-2021 adjusted and it is depressing |
| Nemu 01/23/22 2:13:00 PM #16 | How many full time adults actually subsist on minimum wage? Not that there aren't problems with inflation, but statistics using federal minimum wage generally seem to act like numerous people actually live off it when I don't think that's the case at all. |
| Topic | Melted chocolate served on your hands in a restaurant |
| Nemu 01/23/22 1:25:36 PM #19 | This must have been developed solely for the purpose of people taking videos to post on the internet. |
| Topic | Elon Musk's brain to computer integration reminds people of Black Mirror |
| Nemu 01/23/22 11:21:32 AM #3 | The dumbest thing is you know for sure he doesnt even have the faintest idea on how to actually do that, so hell just end up releasing a helmet with a camera on it in 2025. |
| Topic | UK gay couple banned from buying dream house because they are gay |
| Nemu 01/23/22 11:10:12 AM #24 | Robot2600 posted... This is bullshit and it's the same thing as the fucking gay wedding cakes. Not really considering this is a private sale. You can discriminate on your own private property in whatever stupid ways you want. Trying to regulate that is impossible. On the inverse, publicly shaming them for being assholes is also perfectly fine, so hopefully they wont get a sale at all. |
| Topic | UK Man pleads guilty to keeping a slave in a garden shed for 40 years |
| Nemu 01/23/22 8:56:34 AM #27 | [LFAQs-redacted-quote] The charges against them should be the same because the outcome is the same, someone is being abused for their monetary gain, but abusing a mentally unwell person and actually forcibly restraining some random person into servitude are still two completely different actions. The article doesn't really clarify the actual setup. |
| Topic | revisited new vegas's dead money for the first time since it released |
| Nemu 01/22/22 11:49:18 PM #2 | The gold bars are pretty good reward, but the actual gameplay needed a lot more play testing. |
| Topic | Do you ever worry about Restaurant Employees SPITTING in your FOOD?? |
| Nemu 01/22/22 9:37:47 PM #14 | Seems doubtful that many people are going to risk their job to spite a victim who doesn't even know they've been victimized. |
| Topic | It's 2022 and you're going into a grocery store. Are you wearing a mask? |
| Nemu 01/22/22 7:43:06 PM #10 | Other than flying and appointments where it's required, don't think I've worn a mask going anywhere else since summer. I'd say maybe 10% of the people I see out and about voluntarily wear them. |
| Topic | Zelda 2 Remake made by the people who did Hollow Knight |
| Nemu 01/22/22 7:21:09 PM #9 | 2D Zelda definitely could work, but they'd have to trash pretty much everything but the story and the high/low combat concept to make it actually fun. |
| Topic | Behold a $60 game from the most profitable gaming franchise in the world |
| Nemu 01/21/22 3:30:12 PM #14 | ModLogic posted... what did people expect for hardware rhat is 3 gen behind?Much better than that for sure. They're literally the largest singular franchise on Earth, and they should have enough experience to make a game way better looking than that without sacrificing performance. Not sure if this was GF or another studio, but everything they've put out for the Switch has been lackluster in many ways. GO might be the only exception where I don't remember anything particularly off, but they also only had to make like 180 models or something like that. |
| Topic | I love when men think dey can receive a ''yes'' if dey do dis in public |
| Nemu 01/21/22 9:30:38 AM #10 | Christ, public proposals should only happen if the couple has already sort of unofficially gotten engaged and it's more of just a matter of when to formalize it. Doing it spontaneously should not be a public spectacle. |
| Topic | A man in Norway was sent to jail for misgendering a trans person. (Lt) |
| Nemu 01/20/22 6:43:44 PM #30 | I really dislike the concept of speech being criminalized, even if absolutely disgustingly insulting like this example. Unless it's a direct threat, harassment encouraging suicide, or breaking some kind of restraining order, it just seems to be going too far to punish people for it. |
| Topic | Twitter introduces NFT profile pictures (they're Hexagonal) |
| Nemu 01/20/22 2:10:41 PM #7 | Shishiwakamaru posted... I really dont understand why people are so mad about NFTs. DLC I understand because this is content that used to be included in game but now a lot more content is left out of games and it costs extra. It's a really shitty trend that'll slippery slope pretty fast if enough people buy into it. It's not really something you can write off as just a fad when crypto is so big right now. |
| Topic | UK Man pleads guilty to keeping a slave in a garden shed for 40 years |
| Nemu 01/19/22 6:34:18 PM #13 | This reads confusingly. Were they forcibly keeping him there, or were they abusing a mentally unwell person who had nowhere else to go by vastly underpaying him for his work and providing insufficient "shelter"? |
| Topic | There's only 2 ways for the DCEU to be saved |
| Nemu 01/19/22 4:16:25 PM #17 | Its pretty much impossible to save it at this point. Itll have its popular movies and its trash movies. Looks like theyre leaning a little bit more towards actually decent movies at the moment, but itll never be the phenomenon that is the MCU. |
| Topic | Men are not supposed to cry or talk about deir feelings |
| Nemu 01/19/22 7:47:16 AM #4 | Theres definitely merit in keeping ones emotions fairly under control, but taking that to the point of bottling everything up is definitely a few steps too far. You can see examples of the opposite extreme in overly emotional people who cry at nearly any opportunity. |
| Topic | Why don't we send a ship of people to a habitable planet? |
| Nemu 01/18/22 3:37:30 PM #13 | Don't have the technology to create a self-sustainable space colony yet. If we did send a live ship, they'd have to be able to get to their destination before inbreeding issues set in. We don't have cryo technology yet. We don't have science or AI advanced enough to gestate children outside of a womb yet. Finding such a planet is theoretical at this point. All we can do is use math to determine that a planet may be in a zone in which conditions for life may be present. We lack terraforming technology. |
| Topic | *Your Hookshot is about to break!* |
| Nemu 01/18/22 3:01:25 PM #43 | Given that verticality and that weird phasing ability seem to be the key aspects of the game, I imagine that they won't tie those to consumables. If they're going to bring back durability, all they need is a proper endgame for it.

| Topic | Do you think Nintendo's next console will be backwards compatible with Switch? |
| Nemu 01/18/22 12:35:50 PM #17 | If they dont just do a Switch 2, theyd be massive idiots. Theres time for innovation and there is time to realize that your formula is working. I could see them just sticking with this hybrid stuff as their primary niche at this point seeing as the other two will probably end up being specialized pre-built PCs in the next generation or two. Just need to make sure they properly advertise that it is in fact a new console so they avoid another Wii U situation. |
| Topic | Being a landlord isn't a job |
| Nemu 01/17/22 4:19:38 PM #34 | uwnim posted... Land lords are leeches on the economy. They take money from hard working businesses and people yet produce nothing if value. That's only if you believe it's possible for homeownership to be made cheap enough for everyone, or you have the fantastical idea that the government would provide (quality) homes for everyone. There are absolute problems with the current system that need to be hammered out to make sure everything is fair, but you're taking that criticism a few steps too far. |
| Topic | Being a landlord isn't a job |
| Nemu 01/17/22 3:33:09 PM #9 | It can be and it can't be. I'm sure some manage to put in comparable hours per week in property maintenance, while some are simply supplying the space and have others to do the maintenance (or are shitty ones who do no maintenance). |
| Topic | When your pets passed away, did you bury or cremate? |
| Nemu 01/17/22 3:19:06 PM #9 | Cremation. Just shoving them in the ground has always seemed like a dont actually give a fuck move unless theyre actually making a grave for the animal or have the whole return to the earth mindset. |
| Topic | "If the roads are covered with snow, just stay home!" |
| Nemu 01/17/22 8:58:32 AM #3 | Hopefully that's being said by someone who lives in an area that gets snow like once per decade. |
| Topic | Black woman on dating site: I don't just prefer white men... |
| Nemu 01/16/22 6:34:41 PM #40 | I'd say publically voicing it is more of a damning trait than actually having the preference. Whatever rational or irrational views lead someone to having such a preference, it's really nothing that needs to be advertised to others outside some very specific circumstances. |
| Topic | Is it necessary to experience romantic love in life? |
| Nemu 01/16/22 4:47:07 PM #7 | Nothing is necessary, but the majority of people will find significant happiness through romance. All a person needs to do is make sure they're living their best possible life and not denying themselves experiences out of various possible fears or excuses. |
| Topic | What kind of game do you think Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be? |
| Nemu 01/16/22 4:42:58 PM #9 | I'd assume an open hub that leads more linear segments, hopefully open-ended rather than forcing you through a particular order. Though a full open world would be really nice. |
| Topic | Should I pay market price for a refurbished PS5? |
| Nemu 01/16/22 4:40:52 PM #16 | Only if you're extraordinarily desperate to play something, but it's not like any of its very few exclusive games are genre defining. |
| Topic | What's the youngest person's funeral you've ever been to? |
| Nemu 01/16/22 4:28:53 PM #12 | Only ever been to one proper funeral for a great grandmother. |
| Topic | How does Ben Shapiro have over 4m subs on youtube |
| Nemu 01/16/22 2:30:14 PM #10 | His debate style gives him the appearance of being particularly smart, but it's mostly just how he conducts himself rather his arguments holding any real value. |
| Topic | You can only have Calvin & Hobbes, or the Peanuts |
| Nemu 01/16/22 1:21:20 PM #2 | Outside of knowing it existed by name, I don't think I ever really once actually read Calvin & Hobbes as a child, so I guess Peanuts by default. |
| Topic | What is the bizarrest (legal) fetish you have come across online? |
| Nemu 01/16/22 12:47:24 PM #35 | Probably gore, dismemberment, and death. For a lot of other stuff, it is fucking weird, but it still has at least a connection to some core vanilla fetish in some way. That stuff is just so far disconnected that I don't even see how someone reaches the point of being aroused by it. |
| Topic | 100 million but youre hunted by an immortal hippo. |
| Nemu 01/16/22 10:43:08 AM #13 | Seems easy enough so long as its not generated right behind you or anything. There are plenty of places where it would be unable to physically traverse, and even if it is intelligent enough to try to do something like hire assassins, its going to be easy enough to find if its going to be around highly populated zones. And if its going to try to assault you directly, then capturing it and enclosing it in cement and dropping in the ocean, or keeping 24 hour watch of it certainly wouldnt be hard. You have to give it more super powers like respawning within 24 hours of capture or something. |
| Topic | does it annoy when people drive slow during extremely low visibility? |
| Nemu 01/15/22 11:59:15 AM #12 | Depends if conditions are actually shit or if the person is just a shitty driver. If you have a line of 20 cars behind you, then it should be a sign that you need to pull over rather than persistently continue at the same exact speed for 20 goddamn miles and nobody will pass you for some goddamn reason. |
| Topic | Toilet Paper: Over or Under? |
| Nemu 01/15/22 11:33:07 AM #3 | I have never once actually paid any attention whatsoever to it, so I dont really get why anyone cares unless its literally their job to stock toilet paper. |
| Topic | Spider-Man No Way Home writers address the final spell in the movie *spoilers* |
| Nemu 01/15/22 10:26:26 AM #35 | It's kinda dumb when they don't think these things out, so you get glaring plot holes like Captain America (did they ever properly explain that?). I don't really like the full reset so they can have a mopey, down-on-his-luck Spider-Man. The prior direction was more fun. |
| Topic | Bird owners are SICK. |
| Nemu 01/14/22 7:54:17 PM #6 | As long as you're providing them with the proper amount of attention (which is quite a bit), that's a dumb take. Now, there are idiots who buy them thinking they're some kind of decoration they can just leave alone, but that's the same of any pet. |
| Topic | Lovecraft was pretty racist, yeah? |
| Nemu 01/14/22 7:25:17 PM #25 | While he's a few stages beyond the "product of his time" descriptor, it should hardly be surprising that creators back then may have held some views seen as really shitty today. If we live another 100 years, you can be sure the people of the future will be judging our sensibilities in some regard as well. |
| Topic | Streamers pull $25k card for a giveaway- say the card is too expensive... |
| Nemu 01/14/22 5:31:22 PM #16 | meestermj posted... Even modern pokemon sets have cards in the $500-1000 value range.Do they? I know they introduced the equivalent of SSR cards at some point, but I wouldn't imagine them accruing that much value that quickly. I guess if their overall numbers are in the quad or quint digits, it could make sense. |
| Topic | Streamers pull $25k card for a giveaway- say the card is too expensive... |
| Nemu 01/14/22 5:22:47 PM #13 | pogo_rabid posted... That happens rarely, but from what I understand, when people were unboxing pokemon and other anime cards, a box of like 10 packs was around $80Those would be just general unboxing streams. Those wouldn't feature cards worth more than like $100. For these where they're finding super rare cards worth thousands, the packs have to be out of print. |
| Topic | Streamers pull $25k card for a giveaway- say the card is too expensive... |
| Nemu 01/14/22 5:17:58 PM #9 | AsucaHayashi posted... somebody should explain this to me because all i'm seeing is a gold-coloured card with a few fancy effects that was probably made for a few dollarsNo idea about this in particular, but these streams generally feature people opening decades old packs of cards that themselves cost thousands or tens of thousand of dollars in the hopes of finding rare cards that exceed the cost of the packs. |
| Topic | Streamers pull $25k card for a giveaway- say the card is too expensive... |
| Nemu 01/14/22 4:37:10 PM #6 | I will never understand the people who open these packs where they could potentially get a card worth tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, without using gloves. |
