I have a wrx limited. I want an sti but cant drive stick.

I bought for a few reasons. I prefer a car to crossover or SUV. I wanted something sporty and fun to drive but could work in the winter. I drive in ice and snow sometimes. AWD is great. So, this requirement ruled out muscle cars.

Yup the whole you would not have a dark lord but queen....

It's why Gandalf is horrified at being offered the thing. It's why Saruman desired it. Denathor and Boromir too. They believed they could do great things and overcome the Dark Lord -- which they could not, but didn't understand that.

the powers of the ring manifest are proportional to the wearer

the ring functions heavily by playing on the native desires and wants of the wearer. wearers that want more and can do more draw more power and more corruption from the ring

which is why creatures like Frodo, Bilbo, and Gollum (as hobbits which are simple creatures at their core) are somewhat more resistant to the ring's corruption. It's also why the ring has such a bad impact on bros like Boromir.

Tom is

But seriously, he is mystery by design. I like how Tolkien left mysteries that are never answered in his works. See the gnawing things beneath the Mines of Moria.

Like I love it. It is anti star wars. Where everything has a history, explaination, or a nod to the reader. Some junk is just there beside the stuff that gets tons of exposition or back story in Tolkien.

I like the idea that Tom is the most pure expression of the spirit and will of nature. Nature just is. It will be. Until the end. Tom's actual power to resist in the end would just be in is Glade and in the corners of the world. Even in the age of man, nature will reeceede. Never completely but increasingly marginalized.

I can say as a teen by the mid 90s, things seemed pretty sweet overall. This is pre dotcom bust and 9/11. US was undisputed super power and society felt more positive. The counter culture was just be a slacker and skateboarding is not a crime. The general vibe was if you finish college, things should work out for you. And oh hey, the internet was quirky and seemed like thr openess of it all would be only great for everyone with no downside.

This is obviously coming from my white and comfortable background though. There were problems then too, big ones. But the culture seemed to have more of a feeling of yeah things will be fine and workout just bcause.

Some people bring up stereotype about rednecks.. but those are about white people. Those are those who the average white person looks down on. Stereotypes to black people covers the whole population.

This is obviously true.

It is like a Venn diagram. Redneck is a stereotype of a subsection of white people. I do not want my post to construe it as being as bad or widespread as stereotyes of blacks. My post exists only to state some white people get a ton of real and nasty stereotypes. Knowing what I have experienced, mainly just hurt feelings, it blows my mind how much worse for minorities it must be.

I still benefit from being white, even if it is the type people make fun of all the time.

Yeah same

From like 6th grade on. I would spend the days on bikes with my friends. Playing basketball or messing around in the woods. We played baseball alot too. Then we would pick a place and stay over. Video games all night.

As we got cars, the biking part stopped alot. But we still would roam town from house to house to play pickup sports and video games at night.

I was a teen 97-04. It was a glorious time. Internet was exciting but not toxic. You still had to hang out face to face and you spent hours out of contact with parents.

I grew up in a town of around 1000. So, it really was that ideal small town experience for me.

I live in Fairmont, that's around 15 south of Morgantown. I went to grad school in Morgantown.

Are you looking for food or sights? The essential Morgantown sight seeing place is basically Cooper's Rock. It's on I-68, just past Cheat Lake heading East. If you're feeling froggy, Valley Falls is awesome too, but it's more remote.

Food wise, I have no idea what's actually open. For casual but local, go to Black Bear Burrito if it's open. I think it is, I drove past it last week.

***

If you've not been there before, Morgantown is basically built in a valley flanked by fairly high hills. Most of the downtown and college are on the side of the hills. The traffic can be pretty bad, and there's no good way to either I 79 or 68 from the middle of the city. The good news is, college hasn't started yet. It takes a town that should have around 20k in it, to a city with close to 50000. So, it can get pretty choked up when classes are in session.

I assume you're going to Ruby. That part of the town isn't near Black Bear. Keglers is nearby and OK, but more of wings and beer joint. There's a really good noodle house nearby called Ogawa. Might try it.

corny af but I love it.

I have this really cherished memory from college. It's 2003. It's like 2am. I'm in the basement of my fraternity's house. We have a couple of the bros hanging out and and handful of the girls that hung out with us around. We had a smallish party earlier in the evening, but it's basically the tight group now -- everyone else was gone. For some reason, this song gets played (we played weird music in general), and it just turns into this impromptu session of everybody belting this song out together.

Vividly remember this one girl, one I still think highly of now, standing in the staircase from our basement to the outside just standing in the door singing. It was a great night. I'll always associate this song with that evening.

Pirates are bad by design.
I have been a fan since the early 90s years. Then went under .500 for 20 years. I enjoyed the mide 2010s teams but it is back to the seller now.

They are small market, but the owner is beyond cheap. They waste high draft picks and select cheap players. They trade a person that is good if they are in a contract year.

I know they can't spend like the big boys. But if teams like the twins, royals, or rays can win on a budget, so can the bucs.
