You dont look like the character you are portraying is a valid criticism towards actors when movies are being made of existing source material.

But these days miscasting is now seen as a reinterpretation of the source material. Hollywood cares more for the directors own personal vision than it does being accurate to the source material.

Its fairly common for white actors and actresses to change hair color, eye color, body shape and darken/lighten their skin to play white historical figures.

Firstly, I doubt it would be.

Secondly, you don't have to be old to get cancer. I got diagnosed two weeks before my 21st birthday. If you can still get cancer, not to mention all manner of other horrific illnesses, the immortality is absolutely worthless.

For argument sake lets say youre right and no cure/treatment is ever found for cancer, you still wouldn't age and year to year your chances of developing a life threatening illness would not be higher than they are now.

I was fine with the physical thing but yeah this was my first thought. If you can still die of illnesses you're absolutely getting cancer and dying at 100+.

Someone also made a good point that cancer would likely be cured in the next 100 years. Theres also the upside of not ageing.

This reminds me of this Netflix movie called Old Guard which is about a group of millenia old mercenaries who are immortal and will heal from everything like Wolverine.

Now I'm thinking well thats awesome but what could they possibly have to be afraid of? where are the stakes? Thats when they tell the story about one of their members who was accused of witchcraft, placed in a sarcophagus and thrown out into the middle of the ocean, her last 500 years consisting of screaming, drowning and reviving.
