overall story and creativity much better in the prequels but really bad character and scene writing and general film-making. General film and effects practices much better in the sequels but overall story-writing and creativity is terrible. So really pick your poison. For something that is supposed to be part of an epic, I am more disappointed and turned away by the trilogy that is the most awkward in the full-scale of the storyline (and it overwriting a lot of storylines where the main cast weren't sitting around or otherwise failing to do things for 25 years.)

Not all, some come from gathering, but it is in no way an exploration game like DS.

Also, I would say the majority of fun in Monster Hunter comes from multiplayer with friends so if you will be playing solo I'd say you are safe to skip it.

It's grindy like Dark Souls, grinding isn't required but it can bolster you to adjust difficulty, (I.E. Building/improving weapons/armor means you will be doing missions repeatedly, but the game is definitely doable without grinding for the current best armor and weapons)

In base World I probably only built like 3 armor sets, and had my fun fighting all the new monsters. (that said, I felt World did not have an acceptable amount of content when compared to previous entries)

Bullshit Jobs is really convincing with just how unnecessary and inefficient a lot of careers are and how such practices obscure just how much work is already replaced or no longer needed but is still considered to be jobs for employment statistics.

TC, I recommend reading Yang's book, and also Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber if you are interested in even just the concept of how 'work' in general has been changing over the past 30 years or so.

Its on my list, and I played the Demo. I Am Setsuna made me not prioritize it. Not that I Am Setsuna was bad, it just set a bar that hasn't urged me to play successors before other games.

After playing it and beating the actual final boss: agreed. The midsection is a slog, but I really enjoyed the last chapters and wresting the advanced classes from bosses as early as I could figure out how. I think part of it is just that pretty much all the characters stories lull in the middle and there is no inspiration at all in the dungeon design despite combat and boss encounters being quite interesting puzzles at times.

The artstyle has improved a lot lately for the anime, but the snail's pacing is still the same that it has been for the past several hundred episodes. It's just an unsolvable mechanism for being on a weekly schedule with an exact time amount to hit.

The best version of the series requiring Americans to read a lot definitely didn't take allow it to take off in popularity. And at this point just the sheer scale of the series is enough to turn away a lot of people who, regardless of the medium, don't want to commit to it.

Yea, I think the best point to make is that the way the real time calendar is integrated is a disservice to the game that causes Animal Crossing to waste its own time whether the player considers it a waste or not.
