The big issue with "cancel culture" is how it violates the principle of "fair punishment". Our legal system is designed such that people who break laws are given a punishment fitting the crime. You don't get life in prison for drug possession, nor do you simply get a fine for mass murder. "Cancel culture" bypasses the judiciary to dish out vigilante justice on people with no way to "appeal their sentence" before it is applied.

Cancel Culture is just today's Ultra Puritans with a Stalinist bent.

Also I think Social Media further fueled them with a bit of Sociopath and Narcissistic tendencies; reason I say it became the cancel culture itself never questions their own people among them, and act like they never did anything wrong in their lives.

To do so would paint them as hypocrites because I'm sure they don't want their own lives ruined and not let anyone to know what they did in their personal lives.

The best way to sum up Cancel Culture -

Mix of Ultra Puritan with Stalinist tendencies; they're the new Puritans with a Zealot Streak, and use Stalinist Tactics to get what they want. Whether the person is actually innocent or not they don't care; they're too driven by emotion and judgment with a mob mentality.

In some ways they perform some forms of narcissistic/bully behavior which is unfortunate side effect of social media, Its especially apparent when they dig up people's pasts (whether they learned from it or not), but its funny when they don't want that to happen to themselves.

I hate it when these people act like they're such pure angels; it would be a interesting sight to see if someone from this cancel culture were to have some form of a celebrity status, but those same people he/she was a part of would end up canceling him/her at some point.

They're just creating a vicious circle for themselves, and at some point people are going to get fed up with it.

Well I agreed to comeback next month; looks like my UI reached its limit anyway as in I have to re-activate it which I probably shouldn't mess with again.

Here is my thing; why are companies playing to the racist' tune? Also the actual symbol is a upside-down version of the OK gesture (afaik unless both flips now mean the same thing).
