wrath's also the best sonic in the west and probably the best sonic in the world behind ken, so playing sonic in a campy way is just the optimal way to play him

input lag sucks but outside of select cases like samus, sonic, and zero suit i never mind "degenerate" playstyles since it's not like they're uncounterable and since most players are bad once they die once they just play like idiots and spam kill moves over and over (basically every mario player spams up smash when behind)

IMO, American Dad has been as funny as it has always been...after taking some time to adjust to being able to say "shit"

the new seasons feel really slow and dry to me

there hasn't been a new episode in a while and i wonder what's up

american dad had a mediocre start and got better, only to drop the ball hard after a string of solid seasons
the first chunk of beavis and butt-head was in that "how did people like this" kind of bad that thankfully was phased out in favor of the fun and clever stuff we would get later on

the story in sunshine wouldn't bother me if they hadn't tried making it so important at the start only to try so little with it and give up so quickly on it

the level design and mission design are really underwhelming
there's this really weird meme where people talk about it like it's the hardest game ever and use that as their flimsy defense

the blue rings basically exist to group up your scattered rings and make them easier to recollect
you'll notice when getting hit after grabbing a blue ring monitor that your dropped rings are less numerous and larger

you can indeed get at least six emeralds by zone 2
the average act has two special stages, with some having more

the blue sphere stages are super easy
except for the occasional unintuitive layout, they're pretty much impossible to lose because of how easy the mechanics are

encore mode's changes aren't even the fun kind

it's a pretty wholesale improvement upon the originals
they made flying battery, stardust speedway, and metallic madness way less shitty while making the good zones even better
design-wise, the new zones are solid but can feel way too short

it's ludicrously easy to follow the rules and avoid getting modded

villains don't really need backstory at all most of the time

i saw some videos out of morbid curiosity and it's kinda amazing how much of them rely on the same setups, clips, twists, and endings

he was never fun to play, even in the 2d classics
his lower jump height made obstacles more annoying to traverse and climbing and gliding were such slow, dull ways of getting around that led to a really stop-and-go gameplay

The blocks in the Mario series are transformed citizens of the toad kingdom so every time you smash one you are committing murder.

the powerup-containing blocks are the former citizens and the powerups they give you are gifts for freeing them

that's kinda the reason the event exists
it puts charity stuff into people's headspace and a lot of people just won't actually donate unless they feel tangible rewards from it (a prize in a giveaway, a callout on stream, etc)

it was a huge deal in japan but the game selection and cost pretty much killed it right out of the gate here

there's actually a bug with bosses in world: they have 5 hp and the fire flower subtracts 1 hp per hit, but the enemy isn't actually told to die unless a) the player jumps on it and the enemy has taken three or more hits, or b) the enemy loses all 5 hp
this is why it takes five fireballs to kill a chuck or koopaling when it takes three jumps, and why you can hit it with two fireballs and one jump to defeat it quickly

Wasnt the version of SMB3 that was on All-Stars like super fucked up gameplay wise due to it altering some mechanics with changing how it looks or something?

i've seen people comment about the games being messed up but i've seen literally nobody ever point out even a single example besides the bug with breaking bricks in smb1 and lost levels where you continue to pass through instead of being bounced down due to (iirc) a certain value mistakenly being negative
the rest of the changes are bugfixes, or take-it-or-leave-it aesthetic changes

there are eleven main games in the series (ten numbered games and super)

if you're pluralizing a name, you just add s, you don't change the y to ies

i mean, they can provide an experience that a movie can't
i don't have a problem with them, they're just not usually a thing i'd spend money on
