Unless you live in a predominantly black neighborhood and they conveniently forgot to put a polling station nearby, or if you work more than full time just to make rent and you can't afford to take the time to vote.

Mail-in voting means it doesn't matter where the ruling party puts the polling places, and it doesn't take potentially hours to do.

Survival horror. I sure do love games that give me a gun as my primary means of interacting with enemies but there's like 8 bullets in the entire game. I just love it when I'm punished for being an active participant in the game. The threat of dying easily at any moment from means beyond your control is great because in video games you can just reload a save and keep doing it over and over and over again until all the atmosphere has vanished and you're left with literally just a frustrating and bad game.

For the simulated universe theory to hold water, we have to accept that it is possible to simulate a universe. This is likely possible. Is it possible to simulate a universe with as much precision as the universe that houses its computer? Likely impossible. Will the people living in that simulated universe ever grasp the concept of more precision than they're capable of observing? Also likely impossible.

Or rather, people living in a Minecraft world would accept that most things are 1-meter cubes. People in our world accept that there is a smallest possible unit of measurement. If our universe is simulated, people in the world housing our simulation would either be able to accept a much smaller minimum distance, or there would be no minimum distance.

Saying all cops are murderers would be no less stupid than saying all protestors are murderers.

Whatever you have to say about the destruction of property, there's no call to try and take human lives. Wearing the uniform alone does not make you a party to murder.

Then how come we so often see every almost single cop in the city stand in solidarity with one whenever they got caught doing something they absolutely shouldn't?

It's less the murder itself, and more how adamantly they refused to prosecute the 4 cops involved. The message sent was "we know he murdered someone for no reason but we don't care and will do anything to defend our own and the power we have", which has been something of a running theme with the police in America for at least a few decades now.

This is Starship, the weird stainless steel rocket that's had a few similarly explosive tests. Tomorrow's rocket is the Falcon, which is a much more conventional rocket that's already had some successful unmanned flights to the ISS carrying supplies.

What that dude did was disgusting and he should get a murder charge on him. That said, the rioting is fucking shameful, the people taking part are a bunch of criminals themselves. But I am sure some people are still going to rationalize it and make excuses. Ridiculous. I am all for protests, but this is not the way to do it.

legal punishments and due process are the agreed upon alternative to mob justice. when one side of that agreement between the masses and the powers that be fails to uphold their end, the agreement is null and void.

Poor people don't have the time to vote, either because they're busy working all day because their income at 60 hours a week perfectly matches their expenses, or because the only polling station is an hour away and they don't have a reliable means of transportation.

Ok, I'll adjust my numbers. People making 800 a week now making 1,000 wont want to go back, either

800 a week after tax is quite a bit, depending on where you live. Mostly engineering, programming or other white-collar jobs that can be done remotely, and less replaceable. Very few people I know making that much have even been at risk due to the pandemic.

There's no way to budget your way out of having $20 unspent at the end of a month after paying bills and necessities. People simply do not have enough money.

Also here's a fun fact, the amount of money spent on the CARES Act amounts to $18,000 per person, and yet you only get $1200.

Yes. That is the nature of exponential growth. The faster it gets, the faster it gets. Most damage is done towards the end.

According to Google it seems to be. Type in "corona virus deaths" and it brings up a chart. Select "deaths" then select "all regions"

If nobody else gets infected, and if 5% of the 1.5 million currently infected and alive in the US die, that's 75,000 deaths. Considering there is no reason to think infections will subside after all the states continue to open up and more events get put on, 75,000 appears to be an unrealistic best case scenario. Doubling our current casualties to 200k is very close to that unrealistically optimistic scenario.
