Thing is, a lot of pitchers are good hitters through high school. They are often the best players on their teams, they just specialize so heavy into pitching in the minors or college, position players overtake them batting wise.

would you accept a pitcher with a 4.00 era but hits .270? At what threshold does hitting from a pitcher start to balance out increasing era?

Like if you had a pitch with a 5 era, but hits 280, is that fair? would the extra runs that guy would produce in the box make up for more runs given up?

Just a thought experiment it's never occurred to me to ask this sort of question.

I like thinking about the issue from the other perspective. Why should short stops and second basemen waste time in batting practice when they could practice all the time on defense and get somebody else to hit? Or a guy that might have a cannon arm from the warning track but a below average bat. That's a guy that could specialize in defense and get somebody else to bat for him.

Yeah, pitches are garbage at hitting, they spend most of their time out of batting practice. Image how much better all the position players would be if they specialized though? SSs taking defense drills all day. Outfielders selected purely on their ability to huck a ball at great velocity and accuracy without worry about being able to hit? Every position would benefit from this arrangement.

But

Yet, I don't see people make this argument for the bloop hitting SS with a .250. People are fine with that if he's a great fielder.

Thing is, all the positions are different, and what makes it cool is as a manager and GM, you have to balance all the skills a player has vs. roster limitations. It makes baseball really deep, and that's something I enjoy about it.

Old and can't field? jam them at first or pinch hitter roles.

I'm 35 and I have 1. I'm not in debt, employed full time, and have plenty saved. I don't see a point in getting another. Your needs may vary, but I don't see the point in multiple ones.

I see the point in something like a credit card and American Express or something. Use the American Express for a proxy debit card, and rake in rewards.

I think it is weird how obsessed some people are with their pets. Like this person at work that has a bumper sticker thst says proud corgi grandparent. Pets are nice and all, but this raising them to personhood creeps me out.

I think there's a degree of truth in the statement. A functional relationship means being able to navigate hard times together. The truth is you want to be with a person that will stand beside you through thick and thin. Unfortunately, the statement seems to be made by individuals as an excuse for bad behavior.

I once told somebody I was going to put them on my ignore list. This was not long after the ignore list function started.

I once made an off topic post about going away for summer vacation on a game board I was very active on and contributed to frequently. I remarked I knew it was going to get modded in the post. That was fine, the off topic and all. But I got slapped with a notification because I was flaunting rule breaking.

All of my over the top moderations came in the early 2000s, when the ToS was stricter as wrote and enforced strictly as well.

I used to bowl upwards of 3 times a week from around 2005 through 2007 with 3 of my best friends in college. Drink, eat greasy bowling alley food, and have fun.

Harder to do that as an adult and when most friends have kids.

Two of my best friends, both 35, have been married since their mid 20s. One has 3 girls and the other 2 boys.

One is a successful banker and the other a successful engineer. I've known both since elementary school.

I've never been married or had kids. I have limited but not zero interest in having them, which is a deal breaker to lots of women.

cleric/red mage

I like healing stuff, but i want to wack things and wear armor. I hate playing RPGs and getting spells/gear I can't use. So I gravitate towards hybrids, but I especially like healering while still maintaining some ability to put a hurting on if needed.

I think paladins are too self righteous and just glowing knights. I prefer being like a small town priest that gets into adventures over his head. Or a neutral good jack of all trades magic adventuer that likes to heal his friends, but wack a goblin with mace or fry him with fire if provoked.

I think it depends on the framing and intent. Showing a bad guy indulging in evil and portraying it as good can illicit a response that makes the evil look far more stark due to its juxposition as good.

I work with a very fashionable 27 year old. I asked her about cargo shorts and she said she likes her guys to wear them. Girl clothes do not have a ton a pockets or any at all and there fore the guy can hold her stuff easy while out.

Performance is not a key component although coupes imply sporty in my head. Hatchback is a type a sedan. A hothatch is a sporty hatchback.

Nah i prefer cold. Cold does not make me feel gross just being outside nor does cold impact my sleep.

You can always put in more layers to say warm, but you can only go so far to stay cool.

I grew up in a place where it snows regularly in the winter and reaches, like today 95 and near 100 percent humidity. I would take a 50 degree fall day over this any time. Same with 30 degrees and flurries. I would take the heat over snow almost any time though.

The problem was in the front loaders 72 pon connector.

People back then realky did not know and it made sense that dust was the problem. Games even came with dust sleeves.

The real pro move was blowing and using another game to wedge down the cart too. Or the real power move was using a game genie.

I got flipped off by another car on Sunday on a divided 4 lane, non interstate.

I was passing a pickup with flatbed hauling 4 wheelers. A guy was turning left onto the divided 4 lane and goes across the first two lanes, no red light exists at this location. He creeps into the medium and then into my lane. I am going 70 while completing the pass. The guy is sitting in the left lane now slowly accelerating, as he had no merge lane and started from a near stop. So i end up right behind him.

I end up right on his bumper or close going like 40. The truck I just passed a little before goes by us on the right. The guy moves to the right lane and flipped me off after the truck passed.

I just kept driving.
