I live with a childhood friend of mine. He owns the house.

The guy's girlfriend moved in a little over a year ago. I pay the same rent as before. I saw no reason to ask to pay less. He was already giving me a favorable arrangement.

Being and Nothingness is a must read for those interested in Exstential philosphy. I did my 400 pevel exstential philosophy final on that book and Being and Time by Heidegger.

Also I like how all the commies suddenly pretend to care about the "free market" now despite not even knowing what the market actually is. Name one single thing in "cancel culture" that was not canceled due to the whims of some executive or a rabid mob. Take your time, you'll need it.

In short, they cancel because the real or imagined loss of potential money and or loss of public standing, leading to loss of money.

Please differentiate a "rabid mob" from an informed consumers organizing their buying power and producers then responding by adjusting products to their tastes.

It is weird to me. I grew up in Northern WV. During the civil war, my family was pro confederate in an extremely pro union area. The older brother of my direct relative enlisted with the confederacy in the 47th Virginia cavalry. He was killed by the local home guard while trying to return on furlough.

I do not hate my family but they fought on the wrong side.

What I do not understand now is back home people fly the stars and bars and cite history. My relative was killed back home wearing those emblems. That is history. Not honoring the damn thing.

Dang I should have thought The Cars and Talking Heads.

I sort of debate though including them though. The Cars might be too rock at their core maybe not enough synth sound either. Talking Heads, I think more proto indie/art rock.

But if we include them, then I would go with The Talking Heads.

I've only called it once in my life. It was last summer.

I was doing some gardening, and went back to my storage shed. There was a wasp nest on the door. I was decided to wasp spray it. Went back to the house and got the spray. I was standing a good 5 yards away. The nest was basically eye level, so I wasn't looking up at it.

I forgot how hard those bottles spray, and immediately felt something splash back in my eye. I wear contacts. So, I run back to the house, wash my hands (no idea if there's spray on it). Rip the lens out, and start flushing my eye with water. My eye is burning, so I call 911 and win a free ride to the ER. My eye was not damage, but that's why you should wear safety glasses.

Even if the "classical" literature, there are plenty of works written for percussion that don't have "meaningful" melody or harmony.

And even if you take a narrow view of melody, the defense of Ben that "he's talking about the rap IN the music not being music, the rap ITSELF isn't music" is just like "He isn't wrong, he's just making a completely idiotic point".

Consider Finnegan's Wake. Basically nonsense arranged to look like it means something. It's still literature, extremely high literature. It breaks the mold of what literature is, but it is still literature.

I was a junior in high school. My schedule was pretty sweet at the time. I had study halls first and second period. Both will chill teachers that would let you sleep in class.

I was in my second study hall at the time. It ran from around 9 to around 10 am, and it was in one of the biology labs. I was napping. The principal came on the PA system, and said a plane hit the world trade center. They then turned CNN on all the TVs. The big CRT ones that hung up on mounts in the corners of the rooms with VCRs underneath.

When they first turned it on, everybody seemed confused as to why exactly. That summer, a Cessna or something hit a skyscraper, and people assumed it was that ll over again. The replays they showed of the first plane did little to reveal the scale. Not long after though, the second plane hit. I still remember vividly thing plane taking a bending arc into the tower, and then all the debris exploding out. The memory is almost hyper-real in my mind. At that point, everybody knew it wasn't an accident. The news, and everybody, thought maybe the first was a fluke.

They left the news on the entire day. My third period was honors English, and that's when the towers fell. The lunchroom was so weird. It was really quite that day, but you would hear people cry or some yell in anger punctuating the silence. I got home, and my dad was always a news junky. But I don't think he slept for a day and half. He sat in front of the TV all night. He was still there when I got up out of bed the next day.
