Can you illuminate that for me? Ive read historical fiction set in Wales, with (a) character(s) named Llywellen.

I hear it in my head as Loo-wellin, essentially? Am I totally off? lol

That's the standard way the English pronounce it. But "ll" has a different pronunciation in its original Welsh:

That's a good question, since it definitely causes some physical change with the brain and perhaps nervous system. I'll say that's a "maybe" depending on what the injury and disability is. It's not a catch-all heal tool, so if there's just say a chunk of spine missing then no, but I suppose it necessarily can heal neurological damage. Either way it would help them cope with the situation emotionally

Damn, so it's only for mental health then.

Well, while 10 million might be able to help more people in a shorter time frame, something like the Love Note (if it follows the basic rules of the Death Note, most notably being able to remove pages and the pages never running out), would have more of a long term benefit for humanity.

Some families fly that flag who have lost a family member in law enforcement also. It's all context, but if someone had a husband or father die in the line of duty and they fly it as a result, and people automatically think racism first, this nation is in a pretty absurd state.

If you're going to be flying a flag at your residence, you should at least attempt to follow flag etiquette. While I feel sorry for their loss, the American flag is not for personal displays of mourning, much less replacement with a false American flag for such purposes.

Tweek the design so that it's not a blatant copy of the American flag, and fly it under the real American flag.

Even flying it under the real flag would be disingenuous, as it's meant to be a parody of the actual American flag.

Some states require a birth certificate and a permanent address to get an ID.

So if you're homeless, or old and alone, you're shit out of luck. Not to mention some states charge $100+ to have a 3rd party retrieve your birth certificate for you if you've lost it, or if your copy is too worn down.

Also, the disparities between DMV access and services are quite large throughout the US. Being in Chicago, one of the US's largest cities, makes you completely unqualified to talk about DMV service anywhere besides large urban centers.

I think you need to address post 24 explaining why the butterfly effect is irrelevant if you're going to continue on with this line of discussion.

It's a pretty bad post is why

"changing history is fine because it might not fuck up" is a dumb argument

If you're going to call a post bad you should probably understand it first. Seriously, how could you possibly be that far off? No wonder you can't address a single point being made and resort to a the response of a first grader.

I said people shouldn't avoid doing good deeds because of the inability to predict all of its consequences. Surely even you would prefer a world where people try to make the world a better place.

Then I said if somebody goes back in time the butterfly effect is irrelevant because a) the two time lines the time traveler experiences exist simultaneously. This is provable by the very fact that he could go back in time and continue his experience. If the time line he came from wasn't as it was, he couldn't continue to exist as he is in any dimension.

and b) if hypothetically time wasn't a dimension like the three we perceive (which it is) and the above wasn't the case, there'd be no sense in worrying that the time line you create after "traveling back in time" being different than that you came from, because the mere action of switching out your present for the past, essentially murders everything that lived where you came from. Even if the new time line turned out exactly as the one you came from, it'd essentially be a copy. So yea if that's how time travel works then it's immoral, but not because of the butterfly effect.

Anyways you couldn't understand it before, so I doubt you will this time.

All you're basically saying is "but what if time travel only worked according to this logic!?". Because we don't know how time travel would normally work, let alone what the case is in this made up scenario.

Maybe it's multiverses like in your first example: in which case, do as you will, no consequence to your own universe. Not much point to this topic to begin with since you're not affecting your home universe, which negates the moral quandary of hurting people who currently exist. This is assuming that you get to travel back to your home universe afterwards, if not, regard your second case:

Or a single universe contained to just one instance, in which case this isn't time travel as the TC is describing it. Again, no point to the topic since in this case the traveler isn't a time traveler at all, but someone now stuck in an entirely new reality who can't go back to his normal life anyways. He can still stop the school shooting, but now his priority is going to be living in this new world based on one 20 years in the past.

I mean, one could still prioritize making sure to not fuck with the timeline too much in order to keep your relatives and any other acquaintances in jeopardy from not existing in this new timeline, which brings us back to normal time travel but with having to return the long way (and having a potential younger double).

Wouldnt it be more fair to say anyone born within x range of event then though? Like say 6 months to compensate for after shock ripples and shit.

But after that point wouldnt things have normalized enough for things to have steadied out along the same timeline? Especially for people with little to no direct impact from it?

Sorta but not really like a schrodinger's cat situation.

Edit: as for the morality of it see my last post. I dont think I would do it myself.

It might have a few pockets of realignment for some people. But odds are that a large majority of people 19 and under would be affected. Especially with the shootings (or lack of shootings) that will follow without Columbine to be brought back into the limelight.

Once you get that first wave of new people being born though, that's when the butterfly effect would be taken into account. Everyone that lost generation would have interacted with would now be interacted with differently. Again, it only takes sex being off by an inch or a second to throw that (low end average) 1 in 40 million into jeopardy.

This is movie/TV BS. Some events make the world better, without us knowing, and some make the world worse. Every single day you chose to change the future based on micro and macro choices you make, but you don't worry about it. If you KNOW you can stop senseless violence, copycats, and fear culture, it's probably a good idea.

Say goodbye to any cousins/nephews/anyone under 19 that you know today. Mess with an event that reaching and odds are that they won't exist in the new timeline.

That line of thinking is based on a slippery slope fallacy though.

Theres no reason to believe that changing columbine would have an impact on any given persons life.

I mean it might sure, but theres no actual reason to believe that.

What slippery slope? This isn't about the butterfly effect. This is a direct effect with regards to how statistics and reproduction works.

You are the product of 1 in (a low average of) 40 million sperm. Change the timing or placement of release by even a second or inch and odds are massively against you being born vs someone new. And that's if Columbine just barely registers in a couple's life as a small blip that they don't pay any attention to. Have sex be off by a day and chances of you being born again as you are practically 0%. Conception off by a whole egg cycle? Definitely 0%.

A large event like Columbine, which became known to pretty much everyone with a TV or radio at the time, as well as influenced media and future shootings, would definitely throw off something that small for a majority of America. Other countries might be affected less, but would still suffer a small wave of alternate conceptions.

Again, maybe nothing big in regards to large events, but devastating to generations of potential people who now don't exist. And it's nothing anyone would or should worry about in the present, but if you're messing with the past? Unless you have no attachment to anyone in that age group, it's a hard choice to make.

Again, this is bad movie logic. Odds are most events won't change that drastically. Maybe some people have sex on different days, maybe some people don't get together at all. Do you care if the universe you're put into is exactly the same as the one you were taken from? You're already a time traveller, you're already influencing things. And, again, you're doing this every day in the real world, influencing things in ways you cannot comprehend.

Not movie logic, science. Even if the day of a couple having sex doesn't change, even the slightest change in the way/timing on that day can throw that (minimum) 1 in 40 million chance of a person being born as they are off the rails. And odds are, something that big would throw off everyone who's ever heard of it enough to completely rewrite pretty much everyone conceived after that date (at least in the U.S.).

If anything, it's movie logic that messing with time doesn't mess with stuff like this.

So, yeah, you can claim that it doesn't matter to you, but anyone else considering something like this would probably be off put by the info that they'd pretty much be condemning everyone they know under 19 to nonexistence. Sure, odds are that they'd be replaced in some way or another by another person, and it probably wouldn't change too many large events, but that's still a heavy burden for anyone with younger relatives or acquaintances.

Anyways, basics for cooking (slightly spoilerish if you wanted to figure it out yourself?):

-Food mostly goes with food. Bugs/lizards/monster parts don't mix well with food.

-Critters + monster parts gets you elixirs. Less healing, generally longer boosts.

-Boosts are noted in the details on all materials that have them. They have different potencies, sorta depending on rarity. More boost material = stronger/slightly longer boost. More side material = longer boost.

-Never mix different boosts. They will cancel each other out.

It's both 1 and 16 because the problem is written poorly.

In one case 8 2(2+2) goes to 8 2 4 to 4 4 = 16.

In the other case it goes 82(2+2) to 8(4+4) or 88=1

In one more scenario you get 82(2+2) into 84+4 to 2+4=6

So yeah, it's a pain because it isnt clear which formulas its using to determine which answer is "right"

Although in the above examples, the 6 answer is the least "right" one
Uh, no. Your second and third cases are just plain wrong given the equation as written.

Now, if it were actually written ambiguously with a "/" instead of a "", which could make it into a fraction (8 over 2(2+2)) then you would have a case for your second case.

No idea what kind of math you'd need to be doing to get the third case though.

Topics/shrines being made for a game =/= it being well known.

Well you tell yourself whatever you need to make your precious game look fair and equal.

Over half the games you listed have had 5+ sequels.

LSSS is regarded as one of the best RPGs.

Parasite Eve isn't a traditional jrpg like the others and it is still really popular like Dino Crisis.

Legaia, Dragoon, Grandia and BtB are the only ones that would hold some weight to being lesser known.

Having sequels doesn't make the game named well known or popular. I'm sure most Star Ocean series players can't name a single character from the original Star Ocean, nor, once again, name the console it was on.

Also, while Parasite Eve is a cult classic, saying it's more well known than Legend of Dragoon is just wrong. Hell, listing Dragoon as being less well known than Wild Arms/Wild Arms 2, Tales of Destiny, and Valkyrie Profile is also wrong.

So is no one gonna mention Yugioh Duel Monsters was created in 2000. So TC exaggerated the over 20 years ban...

IIRC the banlist wasn't even incorporated until 2004 or 2005; up until that point the worst a card could get was limited.

I mainly came in here because I know PoG wasn't banned until I was in Junior or Senior year, and 20 years ago I was just starting high school.

A real jrpg

Dragon Quest XI: S is coming in a few months. Gotta make sure to set up at least 3 days of vacation for it.

Off the top of my heads: jRPGs lesser known that are better than Xenogears

Wild Arms
Wild Arms 2

Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2
Breath of Fire 3
Breath of Fire 4
Tales of Destiny
Tales of Destiny 2

Lunar Silver Star Story
Parasite Eve
Legend of Legaia
Legend of Dragoon
Valkyrie Profile
Grandia
Beyond the Beyond(Try this one, guys if you like the Golden Sun series)
Star Ocean

Literally none of those games are lesser known than Xenogears.

Nah, the bolded ones definitely are lesser known to some extent. Hell, I bet most people don't even know what platform Star Ocean was on (also, it didn't even get a western release). Legaia is kinda iffy as well, along with Breath of Fire IV.
