There is no shortage of accurate, good representation for straight white people in Hollywood. That is not the case for other groups. We have so few trans characters in media that are played by actual trans people, that people in this topic cant even think of one ftm trans actor. --- |

The obit goes on to describe how Gill may even have undergone the initial stages of [medical transitioning] that made her appear more masculine, and that Gill insisted she was a man who wanted to be known as Mr. Gill. Based on that alone, its pretty obvious that Gill did not identity as a woman, as Johanssons film seems to suggest. Did Spinelli simply ignore this for his script? everyone please educate yourselves on trans identities before you argue that this meant the guy was a woman playing dress up. We may not have always had the terminologies of trans but the these identities and people existed since forever. --- |
