I hate these kinds of problems. Vague and/or heavily theoretical math problems were a big reason I never did well in my math classes all the way up to Calculus. I much preferred the more practical applied math problems in my engineering courses.

I think its stupid, and I think the teacher is an idiot, but I am not offended.

In the latter half of 2015 I nearly had a mental breakdown due to stress/anxiety from college. Had just started at a four year university (transferred from a local two year institution), and the combination of a 45 minute drive to actually get there, having to stay close to 8-10 hours each day, much more difficult classes (Im in an engineering degree), and a particular teacher who made it his mission to make his students lives hell. All combined with me having doubts about my degree choice led me to have a REALLY crappy semester.
