Like I mentioned in another thread, back in 2009, both a guy I knew in his 20s and my cousin who was 13 at the time played Chrono Trigger. The guy in his 20s said it was one of his favorite games ever, and my cousin also thought it was great (and he usually played with no volume for some reason, which to me makes it not as good).

It's not an exact science. Part of the reason why some people born in the early 80s like to say they're not Millenials.

Obviously the Genesis sold a lot more than the others, but it is interesting how each Sega console had most of its success concentrated in a certain area. Master System was Europe (and later Brazil), Genesis and GameGear were US, and Saturn was Japan. Dreamcast was the one exception.

Curiously enough, N64 and Genesis are pretty similar in certain ways. Both go back to what I said about being classics but not top tier, yet they both have strong followings of people declaring them the GOAT console.

The big difference of course is that Genesis had a significantly deeper bench, but didnt have the highs of the N64. I would guess the Genesis was probably the better of the two, but not by much.

One if the best ones is that Captain Picard had a crystal he held in a ton of scenes, and nobody noticed it until it was brought up.

The Atari 2600 was a big success, over 30 million units, mostly in the US. Though NES did better, saved the industry, and of course started a ton of franchises still going.
