edit: and technically what he did wasn't above the law. It WAS the law. Biden is President and used his presidential powers to pardon someone.

This board is so patronizing. I would never in a million years vote for Trump or any member of the present GOP, but holy **** guys. The average American has lived quite a number of years as an adult. They know basic ****. I used to work in a blue city, and nearly ALL the people who said they voted red were college educated. GOP voters aren't all dumb hicks that are generally uneducated. They're uneducated on teh issues.

The average American gives us water, power, the internet and all the other stuff we enjoy on the fruit of their labor. That includes red and blue. In short, we live in a functioning society because they're smart enough to do their ****ing job, which includes basic ****.

I think you guys are making this a much bigger deal than it is. I guarantee you I can take a person who got an education from an accredited university and find out they didn't know the numbers we use are Arabic numbers. While it should be common knowledge, it takes only one day to teach it, and there's very little reason to repeat it again.

btw, I see on this board a theme that Dems shouldn't try to court GOP voters. People are saying there's no point. And in the short term, sure, it might win Democrats elections by focusing on people who might have a chance at voting for them. BUT, you understand that without these "uneducated" voters, there are no elections to win. Make fun of them, call them idiots, say "these people are the reason why we lost this election.." do all of the above. But after this election, understand that these people are necessary to win elections. Ignoring them will only be at the party's own peril.

Biden won an election in 2024. And I have no doubt that the party can retake the house in 2026. I have 0 doubts on that. If Trump and the GOP can't take care of their needs (and I don't know how they could do that, given their platform), the Democrats can and WILL court those voters over.

Before I begin, I just want to way I don't endorse or believe in a flat earth. This topic is in no way saying "hey my doctor friend says the earth is flat. Checkmate!" it's actually saying that no matter where you go, and no matter how educated some people might be, they'll hold some ridiculous views and guess what...? Most of the time it's inconsequential. He never really talks about it outside of his friends.

I haven't lived in the same city as him since I was 18 but we have always kept in touch via email, phone, and text messages. He is still my best friend. He and I took radically career paths. He immediately went into learning biology and medicine the moment after high school. I studied something else. I won't say because I don't want to reveal too much of myself or me. A good enough sleuth would be able to find us out, and I'd hate to ruin his reputation. He's a good physician. If it were publicly known he's a Flat Earther and Trump supporter it could really strain his career.

Some facts about him but not too much.

- he is a minority. I won't say from where but it's one of the ethnicities that southern states in America don't like. The reason mention this is to show the fact he isn't a "dumb white boy"
- he went to a well known medical school. It's reputation isn't Harvard or Jon Hopkins tier, but it's a school that if I mentioned most people would immediately know, even if not for the medical school itself.
- he didn't take the traditional route to become a physician. After high school he worked as a hosptial worker and then later went to study to become a physician.
- he graduated medical school anywhere between 2006 and 2012... I think. I honestly forgot his graduation date. But I think that range sounds accurate enough.
- he practices primarily as an internist/general practitioner/family doctor.
- he is currently a teacher at his former medical school. He told me recently he's quitting and returning to actual practice.
-while his training is as an internist, he is also qualified to practice in a field of medicine that I won't say because it seems to be quite uncommon. In fact prior for him telling me about that field of medicine, I didn't know it existed.
- he has saved a lot of lives. One notable time was when someone had a heart attack in a public place and he performed emergency aid to them.
- I'm not entirely sure what state he's actually licensed to practice, but I do know he's practiced medicine in at least two states. One of them being California where he currently practices.
- if you knew his name you could easily look him up. He wasn't blowing smoke up my ass and trying to look cool. He has done all that I mentioned.
- he lives in a really nice house in an expensive area. I guess physicians make the big bucks.
- he was and may still be a Trump Supporter. While I talk to him semi regularly we generally don't talk politics. I do know he was a big supporter of Trump in the 2020 election. It confounded me because of his ethnic background.

And yet, despite his education and qualifications, he has literally told me before that Outer Space doesn't exist. That the Earth is flat. That there's a one world conspiracy theory or whatever that's called.

I don't subscribe to any of that and neither do I support Trump. But he is my best friend and I know he's done good things. Better things than most I've ever met. Him believing in a flat Earth is so inconsequential to the bigger picture. He's just one man who never talks about it outside his circle of close friends. And he isn't dumb. Sure he holds some dumb views but we ALL are guilty of that. He is very intelligent and competent in his line of work.
Chances are you work with a Flat Earther. Maybe you were treated by one who was also a physician. Maybe you crossed a bridge which was designed by an engineer that was a flat Earther. Who cares? It's seriously not that big of a deal.

I say that because most people I see online have said to others "cut ties with him/her. They're a dumb ass". No. I will not cut ties with him because he holds a dumb belief but chances are he's smarter than you (you being the people who say that).

Flat Earthers come in all shapes and sizes. I hope one day the flat Earth theory ceases to exist. But until then, they're out there and doing incredible things just like the rest of us.

Yeah I remembered being bullied just for being Asian, with every stereotyped thrown at my face like having a small penis and eating dogs. I remember the day my mom confronted the Principal about it and I remembered he said something very inappropriate like "stereotypes are based off truths you know, so technically what the kids are saying to him (me) isn't necessarily wrong, but I'll agree maybe what they said it wasn't very nice." (my mom english vocabulary wasn't very good so he was using that to his advantage to play semantics). My mom brought the bullying to my teacher and she took it into her hands by literally humiliating the main bully (the one starting it all) in front of the class and demanded he do a public apology to me and another asian student. So the bully than brought his parents in and said what the teacher was doing was "bullying" and actually got her fired and was replaced. My mom ended up pulling me out of the school and decided to put me into a school with more asian students to prevent this from happening again.

I think 2 decades later, I found my teacher attending my cousins wedding. She's currently working as a regional manager at Costco and she even said to me that she had no regret for her action and would do it all over again. I still keep in touch with her every once in awhile.

hm... i had the opposite happen to me. I was in a school where there were very few Asians. But instead of being bullied for being Asian, people thought it was ... i dunno. Exotic? Like that one thing people felt stood out, but no really cared. Sometimes I'd get "hey where you from?" and i would tell them. They would then just shrug and move about their day.

I'm not trying to minimize your experience. I just find it interesting how some people have very different experiences when placed in very similar circumstances.

first things first. get off GameFAQs and talk to someone who knows.

I'm sure plenty of people here on GameFAQs knows what they're talking about. But unless you already know how to fight, you won't know when to call BS if the advice is actually BS. and if you knew enough about fighting, you wouldn't be asking these boards in the first place.

So stop, talk to the police, talk to your jobs management, and talk to the police. if none work, call someone you know IRL that you know has some knowledge in fighting. if you still don't know a person, then go to your local MMA club, or some martial arts club, and ask for some advice.

Honestly speaking though, they'll likely to tell you to avoid fighting at all costs. If you think the guy is threatening and will just give you a bloody nose and walk away, then let him give that to you, and sue him. make sure there's evidence. If you even suspect the guy is going to give you serious injury, then it won't be worth it to just stand there while he wails on you. Don't take the higher ground and "stand up to the bully" like you suggested up there. There is NO higher ground if you suspect this fight will escalate beyond a few bruises. The only higher ground here is that you're above ground and not buried under it.

Take your morals and shove them up your ass if it comes to that. If you insist and it goes badly, just know that most the town, your workplace, GameFAQs (for what its worth) and most of the world isn't going to lose sleep just because you didn't want to back down to bullying. No one here is telling you to be a wuss. They're telling you that if you don't know how to fight, then do what's wise.

the mod has a point. If a sub (or a board or forum, or whatever) is dedicated to a certain thing, and a single subject hijacks it, then it really devalues the sub.

Kind of like if you have a FFX sub and there is are posts of Yuna, Rikku and Lulu in suggestive poses. Yes, technically the posts are on topic, but it really derails the point of the sub (or board or whatever)

I haven't read all the posts on here, but i still go to reddit. I don't go to any mainstream subs because I only go to reddit for very specific information, so the subs i go to are relatively small compared to things like r/all or r/gaming. So the posts tend to be a bit more focused and on topic. No time to reveal a person's personality.

Used to be in the Navy. While what I did in the Navy was not even close to being a fisherman, I did spend most of my time in on a boat and at sea. At least I'm used to the ocean.

I'm not a democrat (neither am I a republican), and Harris has not impressed me in the slightest bit. I'm no fan of hers, and will not be donating to her campaign. BUT, Trump has shown where he stands with Israel/Palestine. He has shown what kind of president he is going to be because he was president before. I don't know what kind of president Harris will be, but I honestly have nothing against her, so she has no bad marks on her record by me. In contrast with Trump, there's really nothing anyone can say to convince me he's better. He's already shown what he can be, and that is disgusting.

I think Harris is the lesser of two evils on the whole Israel/Palestine issue.
