Jones absolutely shot himself in the foot by disrespecting all the court procedures. Like the current Supreme court is an absolutely abysmal and an affront to law but, at least for now, they still need to maintain a thin veneer of legitimacy. Their rulings might be a joke but they can't have other people making the court system look like a joke only to be rewarded as it erodes their own power.

As fun as it would be, the narrative dissonance of Aang wiping out thousands upon thousands of soldiers would be quite the hurdle to overcome. Like it is fully antithetical to the character.

In retrospect, I should've skipped redoing the Petra and Bernie one, because that doesn't actually give anything good. I will however still redo Legend of the Lake because I did like that bow going on Bernie.

Fallon has the most job security of all the host because while all broadcast late night is losing money and kept alive through tradition and promotional synergy, the Tonight Show is by far the most historically significant and institutional of them. Even with nobody watching, NBC cancelling it would be a gigantic deal in a way that the ending of the others just won't be. I still think Jimmy Fallon will be the last host of the Tonight Show though.

So it sucks that he is far and away the worst of the hosts.

I can't tell you the last time I used cash for anything. Like whatever cash I have on me is from like a friend paying me back for something.

The CW's limbo period during the Nexstar buy out was really weird and Gotham Knights kinda exemplified it. It had giant "we were making this show for HBO Max, but holy shit it's bad, so let's just throw it onto the soon to be dead CW" vibes.

Which is a very specific vibe, but that's just what the channel felt like.

My criticism with the series almost goes the complete opposite direction as most. I don't want the High Republic era sitting around pondering the "what if the Jedi are flawed" question that has been pondered over and over again across multiple movies and TV series.

This was supposed to be the Jedi in their peak. I wanted to see them as a genuinely strong, competent organization. They took a genuinely fun initial premise, Jedi detective murder mystery, and then bogged it down with a bunch of the same stuff we've seen before.

The flashback episode was also just the worst sort of contrivance to add moral ambiguity to the whole plot. Just a constant series of everyone passing the idiot ball back and forth. Like if you are going to do the "Jedi are incompetent and maybe also bad" plot, at least commit to it.

Having the Sith be behind things was also wildly unnecessary. It's okay to have different bad guys for once.

Sick lightsaber fights though.

I think the problem with that is that it's just to niche of a scenario to be worth it. Especially when Yunaka's damage has long since fallen off by the time Pair Up is available. Zelkov would hold up better, but if you are actually going to invest in Zelkov enough to level him, you probably want to get him into a good class so his stats can actually do something.

Timmera is functional in the sense that giving her a bunch of contested resources makes her usable but she is basically never the best use of any of those resources and joins alongside a bunch of combat gods that wildly outperform her. So she never justifies a deployment slot beyond favoritism. Which is a perfectly fine reason to deploy her, but does not make her a good unit.

Primary challenges could cause issues in election years where things are expected to be really tight between the parties.

But given both general mid-term election trends and the fairly disastrous job the Trump admin is doing right now, Dem's should have a pretty strong tailwind going into 2026. This is the ideal scenario for primary challenges. People will already be craving something different and there will be a strong "blue no matter who" sentiment anyway regardless of who wins the primary.

Assuming Luigi did the crime, then he absolutely committed murder and does need to face the appropriate consequences for it.

That said, I understand why he did it. The healthcare system in the country is broken on a fundamental level. It's easy to see how it could drive a person to extreme actions. I also don't believe the government is aiming for appropriate consequences. He's been wildly over-charged and the government has been behaving in a manner that I believe damages his chance for a fair trail. And if I have to choose between inappropriate consequences and no consequences, then I'm choosing the latter every time.

He was absolutely right in commuting all of those sentences and he would have been right to commute the remaining 3.

That said, I get why he didn't commute who he did. They were three ultra-high-profile crimes and it would have been a political landmine. He still should have done it. Not like he's continuing a career in politics after this.

Hard pass. I love animals but I very much do not want to deal with strange ones while I'm just trying to work.

I really wish Adam Conover was a better interviewer/podcast host. Like I don't mind him as a comedian/sketch person, but he just doesn't do a particularly good job when interviewing people. Which is frustrating because he often gets really interesting guest.

The increased scope of modern games means that remixing them is a considerably more resource intensive process. And I'd wager that the percentage of players who actually did second quests is probably really small.

I seriously doubt she actually took a private jet for intercity travel. This was almost certainly done for maintenance or storage, which isn't unusual for private jets as it frees up space at more trafficked airports.

That isn't to excuse her as it's still an emission that comes with using a private jet and one easily avoided by just not having a private jet, but it isn't as flippant as Taylor taking a private jet instead of a half-hour car ride.
