I just found it hilarious that a prey animal (grasshoppers) willingly went into a predator (ants) home, where they would have had limited mobility, have been unable to use their primary method of escape (jumpling/flight), and put themselves at every possible disadvantage.

If this weren't a disney movie, the ants would have massacred the grasshoppers 15 minutes into the movie.

It's like "What if we had a dozen mice lock themselves in a box with 100 cats"

Full grown adults sit on coolers all the time. Anvils range from 75 to over 500 lbs.

Even at the extreme end of 500lbs, I doubt I could lift it but I could certainly move it, especially off a cooler.

I have trouble believing there is an anvil that exists that is light enough to not crush a cooler, but also so heavy that I cannot simply lift it. I have an anvil at home and it's fairly easy to move.

Battle songs were great but the ghostly female vocals got done by the end.

The game was a square 8/10 but everyone's going on how it's the best thing ever, feels like the hype for the first ME all over again. Or the hype with the first horizon game. I'm just not seeing it

The expeditions actually count backwards starting at 100..except the first expedition wasn't called 100. It was called Expedition 00. Then backwards from 100 after that. I can't really explain any further without spoiling anything. I will say though that I would love to play dlc or prequel for Expedition 60.

horizon zero dawn took me about three years to get in to

and now it's one of my favorite games

Horizon zero dawn was kind of grueling for me. It started off pretty strong, but fairly early in (I think the fire spitting boss you fight in an enemy camp) enemies just became huge damage sponges and took forever to kill. Perhaps i was doing something wrong, but most fights just took way to long and it got to the point where I was avoiding enemies. I forced myself to finish because i was enjoying the story, but the damage sponge enemies just killed it for me.

The crafting system utterly ruined it. Berseria had a significantly better one. It was absolute trash too. That's how bad the one from Zestiria is.

I enjoyed Berseria, though the writing was really bad. Velvet's rage felt like a period joke. also I didn't understand the battle system, i just randomly mashed buttons and eventually beat the game.

I feel mixed on arise. The game seemed to start out strong and then it just kinda flatlined, and that infodump at the end almost made me quit. Thought the ending cinematic just being a euphemism for sex was great.

I attempted the DLC but it was so long after i played the main game I forgot what was going on, and couldn't get into it.

Xillia was fun. IMO vesperia is still the best, even with all its nonsense science jargon.

It's definitely not the best but it isn't the worst Tales game. That title belongs to Zestiria. I wouldn't mind a remake of it.

I started Zestiria and a very short way into it i was like "This is just bad" and gave up.

Tales of Legendia is the only one I remember. I played until like the first save point and stopped. Then went back years later and beat it.

Oh man Legendia was was rough. I recall myself forcing myself to play through it all hoping it would get good, because I loved symphonia so much. I absolutely hated the whole thing. Although the only thing I recall now was the guy yelling "STELLLAAAA"

I'm surprised by how quickly the first game ended once i got into it. I didn't do much of the side content though because I wanted to jump into the second one. It felt weird finally seeing NPCs in the second game.

I got God of War back when it first came out on PC. I started playing it, but the beginning was very dull and another game came out and I got distracted so I put GoW down. Like a year later I picked it up again, made a little progress, but it had trouble keeping my interest and I stopped again. A while later I picked it up again, made it about as far as the witch you meet. again though, it just wasn't interesting yet.

Finally, I just bought Ragnarok on the PC summer sale. I started it and I was like "what the heck is going on" with some crazy lady chasing me. Decided to continue the first game to try and figure it out. And then finally, just a big after meeting the witch lady, the game finally started to get interesting. I've now binged the first game and I just completed the part where you fly the ship. Suspect i'm close to the end honestly. (That battle on the boat was grueling)

Do you guys have any games that took you awhile to actually get into?

25 years ago, I was but a simple high school student. My Science teacher asked a question:

"What is something that has the traits of a living thing, but is not alive".

He said that only a few of his students ever figured this out, and it took them years.

I pondered hard about this. I thought right away it was Viruses, but that wasn't the answer. thought more, came up with more ideas, but they were not answers.

Time passed. I graduated, and moved on with my life. that question remained in the back of my head though.

I thought maybe it was something more abstract. After 10 years, I eventually came up as the concept of "civilization" as an answer. I reached out to him, and it was not the correct answer.

I shelved the question for a while, but it still kept coming up. Eventually AI came about, and I got several more good ideas, and a bunch I had already thought of. now, 22 years after I was originally asked, I reached out to him again. Guy is over 90 now, and probably doesn't have a lot of life left in him.

I presented a few more ideas to him, and asked him for a hint. My ideas were wrong, and he decided to just tell me what he had in mind. He said that there was a solid substance when introduced with a liquid, i behaved like it was alive. I did a little more research and found out he was referring to camphor and its reaction to water.

I admit it's neat, but I was expecting something a little deeper and potentially meaningful, and not an elementary school science experiment.

my memory is hazy, but from what i recall,

you're right most of it went down on SBA, and it all came out because somebody (I forget who) figured out who the actual woman was, then reached out to said woman and told her about the tale of chelle and the dog, as well as mentioning the doctored photos of the act. Things escalated into the chelle user freaking out and confessing it all.

The only reason i remember when it went down is because I happened to be on life changing vacation at the time, and i looked on SBA and saw it all happening. Twas Spring of 2012

Still says i'm at 4999.... When's the magic begin?

Tomorrow is the day assuming i remember to log in!

I had hoped that when I and the other relics around me finally reached 10k, we'd get our board and hold a vote there for new new user level's name. Always the same people getting there first. And I'd hope this time we'd finally complete the South Park-inspired pun and go from "???" to "Prophet". It's been proposed in the last few new level name votes but never won.

But I don't expect we'll see a name change anymore. We beat the internet. The end guy is hard.

I can say from experience it's probably going to be a lot easier to find someone else to hire you when you already have the job your working for. The longer you stay unemployed, the worse you probably look.

as cool as it is, a same priced gaming laptop is gonna give you more performance.

I've been playing the full version for a bit, in the "wasteland" area now. The environments all feel kinda samey, but the combat is fun. the engineer lady i picked up feels out of place with how cheerful and childish she is.
