I remember liking it a lot when I saw it as a kid but I see now that it has pretty terrible reviews. I wonder if I should re-watch it.

e: Actually the reviews by professional critics are solid but the audience score is terrible.

According to Variety, Netflix has secured the global rights to Catan, and plans to release various projects in both live-action and animation. Theres talk of film and scripted and unscripted TV. All projects will be produced by Darren Kyman from Asmodee (which recently split from Embracer), Pete Fenlon of Catan Studios, and Guido and Benjamin Teuber, the sons of Catan inventor Klaus Teuber.

Teuber first published The Settlers of Catan in Germany in 1995. It would go on to become one of the biggest board games ever, selling over 40 million copies. He died aged 70 in 2023.

NASA confirms Earth now has two moons until 2083
Discovered this year but traveling with us since the 1960s, the small asteroid will drift away in 2083

Earth just got a new tag-along in space a little asteroid named 2025 PN7.

NASA confirmed this week that the rock, discovered by the University of Hawaii, is officially a quasi-moon a rare type of celestial companion that travels almost exactly in sync with Earth. So its not a true moon, but it keeps pace with us, looping around the Sun in a path so similar that it appears to shadow our planet as we orbit.

Scientists estimate its only 18 to 36 meters wide, about the height of a small building. Tiny by cosmic standards, but significant enough to earn its own place in Earths extended neighborhood.

How do you get internet from the library? Like I knew you could borrow games, book, movies and cds but never internet.

Our library gives out internet "hotspots" which basically function as routers. Years ago, we could get them at the drop of a hat but now they've become more popular and have long waiting lists.

I've personally never had an issue with spectrum, they're usually quick to respond to an issue or will make it right if we're having issues.

Basically when a family member died who had their service, they made us drive down to their offices with his death certificate to cancel the service. It was kinda traumatizing.

Oh, that's always the first thing I get done whenever we've moved. Usually I just bring my router and modem with me from the previous place, hook everything up and call Spectrum to activate it because most of the time the place already had service at one point.

I just got out of a 6-month stint in jail and we normally just get our internet from the library but both our cards are currently trapped. We're also against Spectrum since they did us dirty in the past. I went with MintMobile this time.

Donald Trump is considering commuting Diddy's sentence as early as this week, according to a high-ranking White House official.

According to our source, the President is "vacillating" on a commutation. We're told some of the W.H. staff are urging Trump not to commute the sentence. But, our source states the obvious -- "Trump will do what he wants," and we're told Trump could set Diddy free as early as this week.

IIRC Stalin himself was pretty blas about the mass rapes (he basically said, disgustingly, "boys will be boys") but to the Soviets' credit they did eventually start punishing soldiers who were guilty of it, arguably to a far greater extent than the U.S. and other Allied forces punished their rapist soldiers.

Sources vary on that, though, so it's hard to tell.

People misunderstand both the purpose and the timescale of protest.

Protests are not recruitment drives, they are an expression of dissent and an effort to draw attention to the cause. They never have an immediate effect. They are part of a movement for change than may take years. Decades even. The Civil Rights movement has its roots in the post Civil War Era. Women's Suffrage was only achieved in Britain after nearly 50 years of organization at the national level.

A person turning their nose up at a cause because they got stuck in traffic means nothing in that context. That weren't going to man the barricades anyway, no matter how convenient a parking space they found.

It's so often just an excuse to withdraw support for a cause. If they are truly sympathetic, it would be different. Would anyone here stop supporting trans rights if a protest inconvenienced them? Of course not. That would be an awful response.

Excellent post.
