Best game I've played in a long time. Still think about it.

The only criticism I have is that it's too hard to track things in the overworld, bosses, visited places, etc. So if that's the one thing to complain about you know it's good.
Funnily enough, I did have that same thought earlier, but I'm sure that's a stylistic choice. These are people that helped make assassins creed, and the just went completely opposite lol.

Never heard of it

whats it like?
It's a turned based rpg (a western made "jrpg" game based in France) with a linear narrative (so not something like cyberpunk were choices matter). The battle system is something similar to paper mario or mario rpg where you have QTEs during fights to let you do more damage or dodge damage.

Makes me wish I was in an RPG mood

The graphics and art style are amazing. The battle system and combat are both among the best in the genre. The music is freaking incredible and makes me want to buy a soundtrack. The story is great so far, although I haven't finished the game yet.

I can't stop thinking about the game in some capacity lol.

Finished total recall last week or so. Such a good action movie. Probably a 9/10 for me.

I enjoyed Predator and Terminator quite a bit more than Alien 1. I think the entire plot of Alien being well known by everyone robs it of some of its impact.
T2>=Alien>T1>=Aliens>>>>>Predator imo

Definitely watch Prey if you haven't, great example of modernizing an old franchise.

I bought one a couple months ago. I've had a pretty good quality gaming pc for awhile, but the portability of the steam deck is great. And not even for outside the house gaming, but it allows me to game in a room other than the office, were my desktop is.

It's also nice that I can watch a movie/show on my TV and play on my handheld.

I also love how easily and well I can stream games from my desktop to my steam deck, allowing me to play more demanding games while saving stem deck battery.

I love the steam deck.

I do as well, but it is nice having a portable device that can play pc games. My pc game library is like 100 times larger than my switch/2 library.

I've never understood why people like Fraiser. It just looks like a show about uppity, pretentious rich people. There was nothing about it that looked funny.
Im from Washington and I tru to watch/consume media based in my home state.

I found the show completely unbearable. My wife really enjoys it though.

Exercise, basketball, cooking/baking, gaming and that's pretty much it.

just finished Predator. It was decent. Not as good as Alien(s) or Terminator 1/2. 7/10

Time for Total Recall

I have a habit of buying games, playing them, then eventually dropping them.

I played the Nordic GoW and beat it. I maybe dropped it for a month then beat it. Im not sure why, I didnt exactly love it and preferred the greek games. I probably won't ever play Ragnarok.

I started playing pokemon scarlet on launch date and sorta liked it. The performance issues were annoying but I dont think I was too bothered it, but I dropped the game so maybe I was lol. I started playing the game again once the switch 2 came out and I'm absolutely loving it. I beat the game and am just catching pokemon and chilling. Might be one of my favorite pokemon games.
.
I'm about half way through predator. I started it last week lol

meh, it's not too bad. I really only get mixed up when using an xbox controller for a nintendo game or vice versa. The x and y placement gets me mixed up a bit, but I never confuse a and b for whatever reason.

There's been a big push in education for years that any work done outside of supervision shouldn't be taken for marks, as the person responsible for completing it can't be verified. The real kicker is that there are a large proportion of students that won't do any additional practice beyond what is done within class time, and therefore not assigning homework can lead to those students doing worse as they aren't practicing what they've learned, since they don't directly relate completing practice problems with preparing for exams.

"Homework", as in completing practice problems or conducting further research into a topic on your own time, has obvious benefits to student understanding of concepts. However it can lead to a disconnect between a reported grade and the true level of understanding a student has of the course material.

If memory serves, you are a teacher, and what you're saying (which is what I was taught and do believe to be true) greatly changed my perception of homework and how I assign homework.

I treat homework(and regular class work) as just "practice", meaning that it's low stakes - students will not receive a grade based on how many questions they got correct.Homework and class work is only worth 10% of the total grade in my class. In class projects/labs, and assessments make up the rest of the grade (25 and 65 percent, respectively).

I don't assign homework every day, just two days a week, and I post the homework in advance. The homework should take students roughly 5-15 minutes to complete for my general population classes (advance classes are assigned more homework). The day the homework is due in class, we go over the problems and make sure that we understand the material, and what steps to take if we don't.

The goal of my homework policy was to disincentivize cheating - especially given how good ai has gotten. If students know that homework is to make them better at the concepts, and that even if you cheat on all homework assignments, you will still fail the class because you have no clue what you are doing.

Ideally, teaching should probably be specifically tailored to the individual student, how they learn best, and move at a place that allows them to keep up without letting them grow bored.
This is actually already a thing, at least in math/science. There are programs that assess your work, provide feedback, give you more practice problems if deemed necessary, and move you on to more difficult problems/topics if you show mastery of the current topic.

.
It'll be a sad day when gamefaqs finally shuts down. I used to spend so much time here as a kid looking at guides and as an adolescent going to the boards. I've written just one faq on like the easiest topic just to say that I've contributed to gfaqs.

Using emulators, mostly. Phones, pc, switch 1/2, but mostly my steam deck.

Using a crt isn't really important to me.

I have an almost 6 month old kid, so gaming on a handheld is really convenient to me. Plus, even if I didnt have a kid, it's nice to go outside or play in bed while gaming.

Have you tried using the filters that many emulators provide?

Dmc5 kinda with the Faust weapon. You fire off red orbs (the game's currency) with Faust. If you get hit, you lose orbs, but if you hit the enemy, you gain orbs.

Ok, I finished Wild Things (I had a small interruption).

That was probably one of the cheesiest movies I've seen in a while, lol. Lots of "twists", like a soap opera. It would have been better if the movie maybe only had one twist and explored it more. Such a "nineties" film. I will say that I was entertained pretty much the whole time. And Denise Richards...holy smokes

6/10 - above average.

I'm probably dense, but I absolutely did not see that twist coming

Do you mean "must watch" in the sense that everyone should watch them at least once? Or movies that you should feel compelled to watch every time it's on?

My instinctive first response was Tombstone and The Shawshank Redemption.
I meant movies everyone should see once.

I have already seen The Shawshank Redemption, and it is indeed a fantastic movie. I've never seen Tombstone, and honestly don't think I've ever really watched a "real" western movie - my only foray into the genre has been Wild West staring Will Smith (lol) and the Hateful Eight seems to count as a western movie. I should add "The Good, the bad and the ugly" to the list.
