This move is tone deaf, stupid and likely motivated by other reasons than anything to do with cheating.I mean when riot themselves say china and korea have such a bad cheating problem that it spills into the other asian servers and affects them too yet they also said vanguard wouldn't be used on those servers. Seems like they're really trying their best to combat hackers, so go get them small indie company with only 200 years collective experience!
I am inherently against any sort of third-party application sending off encrypted anonymous data from the kernel level. I don't trust any company's security to be so flawless that they can protect from that attack vector, and that is unfettered access directly to your computer if hacked.A lot of this stemmed from riot getting hacked and league's source code getting leaked. League also held together by paperclips and glue and is such a buggy mess I can't imagine them suddenly getting their shit together and be able to patch out security exploits.
