Come on, you are going to tell me this isn't iconic? Even if it isn't as big as Mario's theme is still right up there with it
Nah... Mario's theme transcends gaming in a way that the Pokmon soundtrack just doesn't. There are people who have never held a controller in their life who can recognize the Mario theme and link it to video games, even if they can't identify the specific game it's from. I don't think the same can be said for Pokmon, not to any where near as large a percentage of people at least.

I'd be interested to see polling on it. I'd guess that the non-gamers who can pick the Mario theme out from a list of songs would outweigh those who can pick out the Pokmon theme by a sizable margin

I'd argue there's almost no really memorable music in new games at all.

Bloodborne soundtrack was the last soundtrack that really blew me away and that game just turned 10 years old so yeah I tend to agree

I wanna be excited for this but it's a Kickstarter, and there's still the looming cloud of lawsuits from the Disco Elysium fallout... hope it turns out good

Just saw it with my kids. My takeaway is that it's not a movie aimed at 40+ year-olds and that it's meant for a younger audience, like preteen/early teen and younger. My kids had a blast. Other kids around their age were having fun. I thought it was enjoyable but it really wasn't my thing. Wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again but if my kids stream it at home I wouldn't mind sitting in with them

Agree that Jack and Jason have good chemistry and did a solid job given what they had to work with. Honestly this is the type of shit that should win acting Oscars it's a lot more heavy lifting for an actor when they're literally carrying the movie

It was pretty fucking weird at parts. The whole Jennifer Coolidge arc was bizarre

This. Just go by yourself if you can't stomach missing out. Just because you're a couple doesn't mean you have to do everything together. It's important to keep your own interests and your own space and shit from time to time

I couldn't fathom paying that much to see any band tho if my two cents are worth anything. They could invent a time machine cruise to see any band in their prime and I still wouldn't pay that much.

Mars Volta opened and only played new stuff. It was great but I would've liked to hear a couple songs from Frances or Bedlam or something.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone be as amused by the Pennsy town names as you seem to be.

You should just do a road trip from Blue Ball to Jugtown to Honey Hole to Intercourse to Climax. Just be careful you don't wind up in Overshot at the end.

Also, if you do that road trip, you won't be able to go back to Virginville.

I wonder if it helps keep your honey from crystallizing because that shit annoys me

Oh one more thing - we have one because my wife loves ikea and will always buy some tchotchke bullshit when we're there because she thinks it's cute. We have shit still in boxes in our basement that she bought on impulse that we have no need for.

The weird thing is that my wife is the furthest thing from a "shopaholic". She's generally very frugal. It's just ikea for some reason

Adding to PO and Nade's points, I believe part of the reason for the watering down of characters and plots is the sheer glut of content consumers are faced with today. It's truly mindnumbing the sheer amount of media that's available. This is largely thanks to the internet and streaming.

This voracious demand for "new experiences" to support the plethora of platforms that deliver content to the consumer requires more writers. More writers means more bad writers.

At the risk of sounding like an overly-nostalgic uncle, "when I was a boy..." we'd get a smattering of worthwhile movies or TV shows a year. We'd get a handful of video games. We'd get a dozen books or so. It was harder for things to break through to the mainstream, so the stuff that usually did break through typically had a high-level of quality and/or enjoyment factor.

These days we get hundreds of games, movies, books, shows, etc every month. It's an onslaught of content and there's some asshole on YouTube or reddit boosting the signal of every niche item that's available, which serves to pique our collective curiosity and feed the machine

1992 - last full year my mom was alive. Would just like to see her again.

I suppose I'd spend the year trying to befriend her so we could spend time together, knowing that once the year was up it would be like I wasn't there at all. I prefer that route rather than stalking and spying on her like a creep and risking alienating her or getting injured or arrested. I don't know how close we'd get, knowing the circumstances around her life at the time as a single mother to three boys, but I'd like to think we could get coffee a couple times and chat. I'd love to learn more about her, stuff that as a reserved 12-year old I'd never thought to ask her about.

I would not try to convince her that I am her grown child from the future, though I do wonder if she'd figure it out or be suspicious.

you can't run off and stash stuff and then come back to grab more loot.
I've done this a couple times in two different ways, admittedly when my drop point was in a reasonable walking distance.

Once, I got into a firefight nearby a trader NPC, and I ran back and forth from the corpses to the traders to swap for some of her inventory.

Another time I wiped out a squad of soldiers in a bunker and ran back and forth from their bodies to the storage drop.

But yeah if you don't have an option within range your loot will despawn unfortunately

I don't like that you can't peek out from cover. As far as I can tell you have to strafe out or stand up which is annoying but I'm managing okay.

I got really aggravated that common actions require you to hold the button, like looting bodies, that shit pisses me off. I didn't check to see if you can change it though.
There is an ability you can unlock to loot faster.

Can you stash things? When I'd pick up every single thing I saw in Fallout or Elder Scrolls, I'd usually wind up having to find a container somewhere that wouldn't despawn, then dump everything until I could get a chance to sell it. Inventory management isn't quite so bad as long as you can store it somewhere.

But if it's a scenario where you can only pick up items and have to basically destroy them to free up inventory space (no storage, no dropping items on the ground), that's way more annoying.
You can store items but it's a little annoying. Your personal carry is very limited. I haven't come across anything that increases what you can carry, yet.

To stash items you have to find these stash chambers that so far seem to only be in bunkers, military facilities, or research facilities, which makes sense lore-wise given the tech design they used for these chambers, but it's inconvenient. Sometimes you gotta schlep items back and forth from a firefight or loot cache, or like you said practice inventory triage. Oh, it's a shared system though so if you find a stash chamber you have access to all your stashed items no matter where you stashed them, which is a nice feature

Still, I've recently kicked up this game, Bloom & Rage, Eternal Strands, Ninja Gaiden Black, Somerville, First Berserker Khazan, Wanderstop, AC Shadows, and Conscript, and Atomfall is what I keep coming back to. Not perfect but I'm having fun

I did play a bit more of AC Shadows and Khazan last night tho. Khazan is fun and AC Shadows is better once you get through that boring-ass introduction
