The elevator scene and him kicking his own ass are all that I remember from that movie.

No. He should certainly improve over time, but early returns make it seem unlikely that he'll ever be an impact player. His size isn't ideal, but there are plenty of smaller guards in the league. Those guys usually have elite athleticism, shooting, or playmaking ability to compensate for the disadvantage; Bronny has no elite qualities.

As a rookie, he's straight up not an NBA-level player, but someone doesn't want him in the G-League either, so he's basically just sitting when he could be playing against guys that are higher level than what he faced in college. It's still too early to write him off completely (he's what, 19? 20?), but I don't really see him as a replacement level player right now and certainly not a rotational guy.

On the contrary, I might be sharper than I give myself credit for, at least according to several peers. I can recognize that I have a good memory for ancillary information and relatively strong observational skills, but I don't think I'm brilliant. If anything, my diligence to find answers about random shit has given me insight into a wide variety of topics. I guess I'd say that I'm more knowledgeable" than anything.

I'm indifferent to both of them in terms of general culture, but I am fascinated by their histories, particularly China's, which is among the most well-documented among continuously occupied regions from antiquity. While I certainly understand the interest in their cultures, I think fetishization is wrong and I feel that's more common than not, particularly in geek culture.

Not sure about the early appearances, but in the 90s he was bald for decades and then got cancer from a kryptonite ring he wore. He died from it, but he made a clone body of himself that was younger and fit. So he had his brain transplanted to it. So for years he had nice long red hair. He also pretended to be his son for years to explain it.
Yeah, that's fucking stupid lol

Your answer makes more sense with that explanation, and I thank you for the clarification

Lex Luthor had hair for years in the comics
Isn't it the inverse with him though? He had hair for his first few stories and then was bald (due to artist error) which has primarily been his look for the last 80 years.

They're fun to watch. Bunting is an automatic ejection iirc
Indeed. They're mad entertaining.

I don't know if they still honor this, but foul balls caught by spectators would be considered official outs.

There's also some rule that "flashy" plays add to the score total. Like if a 3B fields a grounder and completes a no look throw to another base for an out, it contributes to a tab of such plays, and the team that has more of those at the end of the inning gets a run.

The Savannah Bananas are a barnstorming professional (indy league) baseball team that plays a brand of baseball called "Banana Ball" which features many hijinks not dissimilar to basketball's Harlem Globetrotters.

They're very popular, as tickets tend to sell out near-immediately whenever they go on sale. For example, when they go to Kansas City this year, instead of playing at the indy league Legends Field (capacity 4,500), like they did the last couple of years, they're going to play at MLB's Kauffman Stadium (capacity 38,000ish). There are only about 300 tickets left across both games that they're there.

Lebron gets a lot of credit for how he's aged but it is nowhere near enough. He's contender for All-NBA First team at 40 years old. Only other player like that is Kareem that I know of, and Lebron is way less a "shell" of his former self than Kareem was at 40.
Yeah, LeBron has lost "a" step, but he's still extraordinarily explosive when he needs to be and, more significantly, his actual skill hasn't declined. He's as good at shooting, passing, and rebounding now as he was 10 years ago. Really, the only thing that's diminished over time is his defense, which used to be elite but is now very, very inconsistent. Given that he's averaging 25ppg, 8 rpg, and 9 apg (at age 40!), I think the Lakers are fine to live with his defensive shortcomings, though the recently traded Anthony Davis really helped cover his shortcomings there.

To the guy who mentioned Ovy, yep. Dude's one of my all-time favorite hockey players and for him to be on this pace at age 39 and despite missing several weeks with a leg injury...just damn. 26 goals in 38 games is a good clip for anybody, but a fucking old timer? Unreal. Absolutely unreal.

I personally loved boxing games from the 80s-00s, but I can understand why there aren't more of them in today's market.
http://i.imgur.com/0APl48O.gifv
I mean, boxing is kind of a dead sport to the mainstream (at least compared to the last decades of the 20th century) so it stands to reason that a game based on a sport that few younger people have interest in wouldn't be much of a draw. I think it would be a very niche thing that 80s/90s kids would be into for nostalgia, but I don't think the investment would be worth it as far as establishing a new fanbase and growing it.

Pretty sure that this was the first defensive scheme that I learned after basic man defense. Must have been in like 6th or 7th grade. Although there are nuances, it's still pretty interesting how effective it is against teams that prefer to slash to the basket (an increasing rarity with the modern perimeter focused offenses). I've seen it occasionally frustrate the decidedly "inside" playing Giannis Antetokounmpo, though he has at least developed a previously non-existent mid-range shot to somewhat compensate for the (admittedly rare) times that he can't just physically power his way to the hoop.

Well, when you turn the ball over instead of scoring and the opposing team scores TDs on the extra possessions, the score can get out of hand very quickly.
