The tax pays for roads, bridges, public schools, police and other emergency services. Basically, anything managed by the government.

So I guess you don't want any of those things.

They never think things through or just say "privatize it!" like that wouldn't be a nightmare.
I picked The Sandlot, but Major League and A League of Their Own were REALLY close.
Its close for me, but I like Kill Bill just a BIT more.

At least it wasn't as bad as trying to play Castlevania 2 as a kid. The poor translation made NPCs give you the wrong advice or sometimes tell you do the opposite of what you had to do.

In one of the worst decisions I can think of, that was intentional lol The designers purposely had some NPCs lie to you, for some reason.

The problem I had was the one dungeon where you have to find a secret pathway randomly hidden in a waterfall

It's not as bad as the original, but it's funny how these terrible design choices get overlooked because they are Nintendo/Zelda games and they HAVE to be good

Even that has hints because you can see there's a room next to the room with the door so it's a trial and error thing.
I think folks think the whole X-Games "fad" ended.
My parents had a Magnavox Odyssey 2 that they got before I was born in 1980.

Sure. I dated a couple before meeting my wife.
A Fight Club remake with all women would actually be one of those things thar upsets everyone lol Weirdo edgelords will be mad because they always are, and then people who understand Fight Club was basically about toxic masculinity and mental health issues in men will get mad because it destroys the entire point of the movie.
:(
Honestly, Lawyer turning into a perv that yelled "puppies!" got super old.
I'm pretty sure people that ask this have never fired a gun and overestimate their own ability to do so in an emergency despite that.

You guys are focusing too much on the weapon side and not enough on the armor side. Armor has been lacking for a while. It's been how long and we still don't have armor that can defend against bullets the same way full body plate armor defended against swords. Pretty much all previous weapons had armor that countered it but we still haven't figured that out yet for bullets and bombs. I would love to see armor that can stop bullets and bombs so we can go back to melee combat and get innovative with our weapons again instead of this impersonal stasis that we've been in that makes killing too easy. Guns and bombs are uncivilized and detachs people from the killing they do, which in turn makes it easier to kill more people unnecessarily.

We do have much better armor now, but weapons tech tends to outclass armor very quickly. Body armor doesn't do much when someone can hit you with a tactical strike from miles away. For vehicles though, a friend of mine had his life saved by reactive armor when his Bradley was hit by a RPG in Iraq.

More like the actual singers/musicians/songwriters could've been more successful if they hadn't been punished for the sins of the frontmen.

The sad part is that it wasn't even the fault of the frontmen either - they were just doing what the producer told them to. And they got utterly crucified for it.

Even at the time it was a ridiculous overreaction. And in retrospect the whole scandal was kind of asinine.

The funny thing is he had done this exact thing before in the 70s with Boney M. They had a dude in the group that was basically just a dancer who lip synced parts from session singers.
Animated: Probably "The Sword in the Stone"
Non-animated: "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"

Honorable mention to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"
Arsenio even gave them a chance when they tried a comeback as Rob & Fab

Plus the 100-coin stars are very much optional objectives. You can beat the game only getting an average of 4-5 stars on each stage, so if one of them is proving too tricky to get without being tedious and frustrating, just move on and come back when you're good enough to be going for 100%.

People complain about a lot about games being frustrating to 100% for various reasons and I'm always like "Then don't do it?" I never understood doing something you aren't enjoying because you feel a need to 100% the game.
Supposedly when he was pitched the role, someone put an X-Men comic with Professor X on the cover on the table. Patrick was like "Why am I on the cover of that comic book?" and they responded with "Exactly"
I'd say fairly rated. I've never been super into it because it didn't feel like a Mario game to me, so as a Mario game I was always "meh" about it. That being said, it nailed being a 3D platformer (early 3D jank aside) and set the standard and codified how games would be going forward, much like the original SMB. Take a look at something like Bubsy 3D which came out around the same time to see how absolutely awful a 3D platformer can be at that time when made by people that didn't know how to do it lol A lot of games built on that foundation.
Really depends on where in California lol I grew up in San Diego, and honestly it's a beautiful state with a lot to do, so you gotta weigh a possible once in a lifetime trip vs playing video games. Granted as I live in California and own a PS5, I can't really weigh that fairly lol
Duck no.
I'm 5'7" on a good day and never had any problems dating. I'll be 44 in a couple weeks, and I worked with people in their 20s in my 30s and 40s at this point and always got along with them great, so this seem like an oddly specific thing.
I was 19 in the 1999 versions of that poll. What a weird thing to think about now that I'll be 44 in a couple weeks, there's a solid chance I voted on that one.

I tried playing this but it hurt my eyes

This game really needs a remake, but tbh I wish it got one in the N64 era

I mean, it technically did lol Star Fox 64 is basically a remake of it.
RE4 when I didn't know there would be instant death QTEs during some cut scenes. Set my controller down just to get killed by a boulder.

Sure, I have been friends with women who just wanted to go out on a date with me because they haven't in a while. No intention of relationship or sex, they just want to have a fun time with someone.

This. My wife encourages it so I'll go do stuff she has no interest in with a friend that is interested lol
In the 80s, 50s was "oldies" and classic rock was like, like mid-late 60s and 70s.
Black Sabbath "Headless Cross". I've been bumping the remixes of the Tony Martin era that just came out.
Its funny, I was in my early 20s when it came out and when I first saw it advertised, I was sold on the concept. I still think one of my saddest moments as a gamer was when EGM did their April Fools prank and said Square was working with Nintendo again to have Mushroom Kingdom Hearts. I wanted that to be a thing so bad lol
I feel like people lump the GBC together with the regular Gameboy so it gets kind of lost in the shuffle as technically being its own thing with exclusive games for it.
I dunno how close WoW Classic is to the actual original experience but it was a very annoying time sink. Training weapon skills, having to mine nodes multiple times instead of just getting everything from one in one click, failing at gathering, no mount until high levels. Possibly the most annoying thing was using flight paths, the closest thing to fast travel, and having to get off at every stop, and start another flight until you get to your destination.
I have a pretty strict "no snitching" policy
I live in San Diego, so going by that, NYC edges out Philadelphia
I've been on here about 20 years, but lost an account bet on the NFL board 12 years ago going by the age of my current one lol

Super Mario World.

It would be All-Stars, but I always disliked what they did to the graphics in SMB and Lost Levels. Looks horrible to be honest.

The older I get, the more I agree. The rest of the games kept more or less the same art style, just more colors, better backgrounds, etc. All Stars stripped SMB of its personality completely. The worst part is yes, Lost Levels mostly looked like SMB1, but it had its own unique tiles and backgrounds (and blue Bowser), and that all goes away for All Stars, especially with world 9 that in the original version was supposed to be reminiscent of the minus world glitch in the FDS version of SMB1
SMW, but All-Stars was REALLY hard not to pick. SMW is my favorite Mario game, but 3 of my other favorites on one cartridge made it really close.

This still has an uncanny valley quality. They probably went w/ shades to work around the eyes usually being a dead give away, but the motions still are off and have an alien quality to them.
Tech bros really do salivate over the death of art.
The whole point of the movies was they were created by Mike Myers, and he played multiple roles.

so but that is still mostly tax money paying for it right, just different wording? snapdragon like that asian ramen company, the only one i know that is remotely close to that name.

Well they're bonds issued through the CSU system and get paid back, it's not like tax funded stadiums ever have that tax money paid back directly. Snapdragon is a Qualcomm brand of systems on a chip. I guess they decided Qualcomm Stadium yet again would be weird.

they recently built a new stadium after a threatened move? What percent did the taxpayers pay , of the new stadium?

Snapdragon Stadium is owned by SDSU as part of their SDSU West expansion, so it was paid for by donations and bonds to be paid back by Stadium revenue.
As a San Diegan, this already happened and I'm still pissed. Instantly stopped following the Chargers.
They started doing that out here sometime during covid restrictions. But yeah, now there is a kiosk where you swipe your card and place your order, and the workers there just call your number when its ready. I guess whatever it takes to keep that hot dog combo $1.50.
The republican nomination? Yes. The presidency? Not sure. Trump does best when he's NOT in the spotlight and he's been even more psychotic and rambling at rallies while mixing up names of everyone he hates so when it comes down to brass tacks, with the economy recovering, i have a hard time seeing moderates and independents taking a chance on him again. He advantage in 2016 was being an unknown factor, everyone is acutely aware of the chaos a Trump administration brings now.
Big "I have studied the blade" energy here.

If Biden called his wife "Janice" we'd see 10 articles about it for a week. But Trump calling his wife "Mercedes"?...nothing. Not a peep from the MSM.

Trump EMPHATICALLY mixed up Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley and that barely made news. Like it wasn't even a little slip, he blamed lack of security at the capitol on Haley in a speech.

Its a hell of a racket. "I need a lightstick for THIS concert", I can't say shit though, with all the Star Wars stuff I have.
My wife got into KPop randomly last year. Now I have Stray Kids stuff everywhere lol
There is tons of old, lost media because masters were lost, or taped over, etc. Not every movie ever made is available on current devices. Old albums that never got a reprint are collectors items.
