I genuinely wonder if they are just meeting some obligation, or if they crunched the numbers and determined that they'll lose less money finishing and releasing the thing vs just throwing it out along with all the money they've invested in R&D at this point

The actions we've been seeing over the past couple of years are not the actions of a company interested in continuing to fight the console war. First party games come out on PC day 1, and now they're coming to Playstation. Why would anyone buy an Xbox at this point. The sales numbers are going to be worse than the already (relatively) anemic sales for the XBox Series consoles.

Thats because theyre not interested in fighting the console war at this point. Clearly Microsoft has revised their strategy due to a factor of not being able to topple Sony from their throne as well as the rapidly changing marketplace in addition to how people consume their products.

That reminds me, I gotta give my Chi-Poo a bath and shes a complete diva when it comes to taking a bath, though thankfully not as big as a pitbull so at least I can put her in the shower with me and get her cleaned up before I get myself washed up.

There was a decent creepypasta I listened to a while back where a dark web hitman was hired by an immortal woman who had lived since the time of the Roman Empire up until current day, basically trying to find any way to kill her so she could finally gain peace since she had grown absolutely tired of living by then. Long story short, he couldnt kill her, they fell in love and had a son and daughter, and then the narrator who had long since retired from being a hitman on the dark web used some sort of ritual that a contact from his old days had discovered to swap bodies with his wife so she could finally be laid to rest, with the caveat being the ritual could only be done once and thus hes stuck in his wifes body for all of eternity now.

Just thought Id post a brief synopsis since your post reminded me of that story.

Doc Kevorkian got made into a monster for this back in the day since people back then were appalled at assisted dying even being considered by a medical professional. Even now, youve got right wing influencers claiming that by even considering such a option for the terminally ill and dying, were going to wind up with the rich elites rounding up all the plebs and euthanizing them despite the same rich elites having solidly thrown their lot in with their Daddy Donnie.

The only upside to this is that my half brother whose kid is trans will absolutely refuse to support conservatism ever again, as he was telling me on the phone after I had gotten into a shouting match with my dad about the bullshit Donnie was doing in L.A. that he absolutely regrets ever voting for that orange sack of shit and will not support a single thing he or his regime does as a result of my nephews life being at risk under the regime.

Im with LightSnake on this. Until we see Donnie overstepping his authority with regards to trying to pardon folks for state crimes, we shouldnt be immediately assuming the worst case scenario here. That being said, however, I wouldnt put it past Donnie to try such an overreach considering everything else hes done so far with barely a slap on the wrist by the Supreme Court.
