regarding quarterly vs semi-annual since I never responded in the previous topic
I think the guy in the video is very investor-focused. Yeah, of course investors want more information and would not like it if frequency was halved. But I think we've created a culture of catering to investors, and that has not been a net gain.
I also think we're at a point in time where the stock market/investing has become increasingly stupid and divorced from reality.
I do agree that given the option, a lot of publicly traded companies are still going to report quarterly. It would take a much larger global cultural shift to move away from that in a meaningful way.
Also, on the bit about hiding fraud/judging numbers being easier under semi-annual reporting: there are crimes being committed in broad daylight under this administration and I can't see this making things worse in that regard.
