Not sure if this interests anyone, but I just went down a rabbit hole of odd scheduling quirks that happened pre-2002 when the divisions were aligned oddly and matchups caused strange scheduling anomalies.

One of which was that the Packers and Redskins did not play a single game against each other between 1988 and 2001. They went the entire 90s without playing each other, and by the end of 2000, the Redskins were actually the last team Brett Favre had left to face off against. They finally ended the drought when they faced each other on the first Monday night game after 9/11.
