I suppose so, it just depends on if they really want to go that route *again*. Giannis has already proven to be demanding. They just got done somehow recouping the assets they lost from the durant/irving/harden "era." Do they really want to do this again? Giannis is the reason the bucks are tanked, after he demanded they get dame.

It's giannis, so it's always tantalizing, but man the durant trio was such a disaster I think there's a nonzero chance they're just like "no."

Also the free agent class, true free agents not options, gets thinner every year. Right now the top guy is probably myles turner. If they're trading for giannis they won't have enough left for another star via trade probably.

Up by 23 on the first half

Knicks are fucked

I hope the Spurs dont take Giannis. I want to see what Fox/Wemby/Castle/and rookie Harper can do. Dont want them to trade the farm.
Give 'em hell Ukraine.
The 27 point half time lead. But I'll still not believe it's over until it is, and maybe not even then.

The Celtics died.

Knicks in 6

Thunder or Nuggets in 6

Thunder or Nuggets in 5.

Knicks gonna enter the final with a ton of bravado and get godstomped by a better team.

Up 41 in the 3rd is probably safe. >.>

There was a second there after Game 4 where I wondered if the Knicks might somehow blow the 3-1 lead once all the media momentum was behind them.
May you find your book in this place.

Ewing Theory shattered by the Knicks, very appropriate

can we get a third 50+ point playoff win this postseason

(probably not)

I thought they'd win in 6 after Boston threw in everything to win game 5, I just didn't think game 5 (or 6) would get so ugly.

I did not think the Knicks were capable of the utter destruction witnessed today.

The only question in the second half was if they'd win by 40.

I think we're still looking at an Indy/OKC finals, assuming OKC doesn't completely crap the bed tomorrow. Wolves could win, but I feel like Randle can't be as good in this series as he has been for matchup reasons.

Wasn't an Ewing theory candidate to begin with cause they already won the title last year
With the Knicks playing in the ECF for the first time in this millennium, here's the very few teams remaining to not reach a conference final since January 2001...

Hornets
Wizards
Pelicans

The Wizards' last ECF appearance was in 1979 when they were still the Bullets. Charlotte and New Orleans have never made it period, which is something since they shared some lineage until 2015. Charlotte is one of three teams in American pro sports history to never win a 7 game playoff series, along with the Mariners and Mammoth

Aaron Gordon with a grade 2 hamstring strain and basically guaranteed to not play (unless he wants to injure it further)

OKC gonna scrape by after all
does anyone even read this
Westbrook legacy game incoming.
https://m.twitch.tv/sorozone/profile
Last time they played in the regular season Gordon was out (injured the previous night also against OKC) and Denver won 140-127.

Now J-Dub got hurt in the first half while we were up and this was Chets first back to back he had played since his injury but definitely still possible for the Nuggets
azuarc won the Guru. I did not.
I still think OKC takes it, but it's not a good look to be getting out hustled by a dude with a limp leg.

The nice thing about this game is we either win or we make our moves with our draft picks (or we see how stubborn Presti is)

I don't think it's stubborn to recognize you have a championship caliber team and can do so for a decade without moving any draft picks.

I feel pretty comfortable calling this one for OKC already.

Grats on the NBA title OKC.

Denver's got nothing left.

This. I'm down with any of these teams winning.

Pacers > Twolves > Thunder > Knicks in order of preference

We have teams that have either never won before or haven't won in our lifetimes, so I think this is a solid final four.

Also guaranteed a seventh straight unique champion with no repeats, an NBA record (Raptors, Lakers, Bucks, Warriors, Nuggets, Celtics)

Previously there were six straight from 75-80 (Warriors, Celtics, Blazers, Bullets, Sonics, Lakers) before the 81 Celtics broke the streak

Agree I'm down for any of these teams winning, but my preference would be Wolves > Pacers > Knicks > Thunder

Woves: Cool logo and branding. Ant is cool. Minnesota hasn't won anything in my lifetime (I think the Twins won the year before I was born) Also would be kind of funny if they won after getting slammed for the Gobert and Randle trades

Pacers: I like Haliburton and they've never won before

Knicks: I don't mind them but they have won before and also New York doesn't need any more wins. Always cool to see a team led by a small guard win one

Thunder: Someone has to be last even if I wouldn't mind the Thunder winning. It would be kind of anti-climatic after all the upsets if the top team just won anyway, and I think they have easily the best chance of winning again next year. Also miss the Sonics tbh
send da video

knicks/wolves is great for meta-comedy or whatever, but pacers/thunder would be super fun if the pacers keep playing like they have been

Had to look up the other 3 major sports to compare and got the following...

NFL - 8 (Steelers, Saints, Packers, Giants, Ravens, Seahawks, Patriots, Broncos from SB 43 to 50)
NHL - 9 (Devils, Lightning, Hurricanes, Ducks, Red Wings, Penguins, Blackhawks, Bruins, Kings from 2003 to 2012)
MLB - 10 (Yankees, Pirates, Phillies, Dodgers, Cardinals, Orioles, Tigers, Royals, Mets, Twins from 1978 to 1987)

Also a pretty funny pattern developing of a team winning their first (or first since the 70's) championship followed by a more traditional powerhouse or recent dynasty (i.e. the top 3 teams in total championships). I guess next year will be like the Spurs or something
Maybe Nico was right all along and its the Mavs

Honestly with playoffs I feel like its all about getting experience and confidence especially when you are playing as the first or second option on your team

look at Jalen Williams who still feels very nervous in that role

He was really bad his first playoffs with the Knicks against the Hawks. He shot like 29%

He also wasn't very good in 2023 playoffs but he was playing through injury as I recall

But like I said at the time I think Randle is just as good as Towns so idk why the Knicks gave up so much (and Towns has had his own playoff struggles)

I think with the Knicks they went for KAT because they werent able to keep I-Hart and Mitch wasnt going to be around until mid season so they needed a 5.

I don't care what either is like on defense, randle is not as good as towns. Towns had 52/42/83 splits shooting while averaging a double double, he is the better player. However, randle has always been solid himself.
