Fuck me dude what terrible news. RIP to a legit master of the craft. I imagine the concentration of Twin Peaks fans is higher here on average than in most places but I'll echo that it's my favorite TV show of all time. Watching The Return live every week with my sister will probably remain the single most insane experience I've ever had with the medium for the rest of my life.

Mulholland Drive gave me one of the most visceral reactions I'd ever felt from a film. The man's ability to evoke strange, primal, and complex emotions through the screen was absolutely unmatched. This one hurts.

I'm more devastated about Uecker tbh, but I live in Wisconsin so that explains that. Guy meant a lot to the state.

As for Lynch, when I watched Mulholland Dr., I had no idea what the hell to make of it to the point I couldn't award it a score. And I mean this in the best, most complimentary way. A thriller that's truly mystifying to me and had me thinking for days.

RIP to two legends in two realms.

Probably my favorite American director. Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, and Mulholland Drive mean a lot to me. His remarks about transcendental meditation and grief have really helped me at times. Time to seek the path.

I'm finding this out somehow days later but what a creative force. Twin Peaks is top tier stuff and to even get a return after 25 years was a spectacular treat.
