expected to be woken up with Mario "here we go!!"-ing on repeat, but instead that's... kind of neat?

I mean not worth spending $100 kind of neat but still.

I also don't know if this is one of those things where I feel kind of impressed but this is already common technology on the market I'm not aware of (still using the same basic alarm clock I had when I was a kid, literally 30+ years old)

I dunno about motion sensors being used this way but there's plenty of variety in the alarm clock industry. I've heard of one that comes with a vibrating motor to put under your mattress to shake you awake. And let's not forget Gun O Clock.

Well they say more games are coming free in the future.

I share the sentiments that this is a pretty cool clock, but the price tag is a bit much.

It doesn't seem horrible. It's not for me (I have an old clock radio I still use), but I can see a use case for rich people who like Nintendo.

I posted this in another thread, but I feel like I'm the only one who remembers Nintendo's proposed "quality of life" product from a decade ago, of which Alarmo is surely the eventual final form. Kind of like how some Wii U prototype projects ended up in Nintendo Labo and Star Fox Guard.
