Up to 89 on OC now.

Also out today: Crow Country (82), Little Kitty Big City (78). With UF8's games on top of that, a very strong day for indies!

MetaCritic generally has lowerer qualifications for allowing a review on their site, which is why people typically go to OpenCritic
while this much is true, honestly i think the real reason people go to opencritic here is because it's kind of closer to what gamerankings was tbh (non-weighted averages)
Multiversus. Can't wait.
Formerly ff6man.
today on new videogames where i cannot fathom how anyone actually decided to make them lol

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1901130/A_Difficult_Game_About_ROLLING__ReUpRise/ monkey ball meets only up (and technically also a difficult game about climbing, so you can tie it to getting over it as well)

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2603860/Underground_Defense_Force_Sword_and_Sorcery_and_Swarm_of_Insects/ earth defense force but it's an rpgmaker demake spinoff fangame
oh hey this is out now (well, in early access but either way)

had this somewhat on my radar, it really impressed me when i saw footage for the first time (admittedly more than a little because of how much it reminded me of rabi-ribi/tevi). still looks really good, and i'm tempted to pick it up in the coming weeks or so (considering Until Then isn't coming out next week any more, probably then)
oh yeah neurodiver was today too i forgot

87 for Lorelei. A strong month for indies!

oh interesting, also 89 for braid anniversary edition and 88s for athenian rhapsody and mullet madjack

it really is a strong month

also i'm surprised rabbit & steel doesn't have any reviews, though it's an incredibly strong hit among players too

Yeah from what I gather it's a narrative mystery noir and gameplaywise it's a puzzler.

I was already down from your description, then I saw picross. Colour me intrigued!
I might be interested in Lorelei. Waiting on Multiversus. Speaking of puzzles, Isles of Sea and Sky released. That was a really good demo a while ago.

Finished The Hungry Lamb the other day after taking way too long to finish last month's Retro Mystery Club Vol. 2 first. (it was good! though i feel like some of the more quirky retro homage charm of the first one was lost here, the narrative was a bit more engaging and fleshed out here)

Anyway yeah, on Hungry Lamb, it's definitely no must-read, as all of it was fully to be expected, but it was still pretty good. They did a good job conveying the message they wanted to here and I'm glad it has been a big success for the studio. (iirc they're over 250k copies sold now and confirmed a sequel is in development for release next year. clearly having one of the most prolific content creators on bilibili to voice the main heroine worked out for them lol)

Anyway I guess tomorrow I'll be grabbing Shinjuku Soumei, and next week my new top priority is Tokyo Psychodemic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYh3CcRqZ70
Thrilled to pick up both, they seem like rather similar releases come to think of it, and not just because of their obviously similar titles lol

Since, as things currently stand, there actually isn't anything I'm likely to pick up around launch early next month (there are a couple of things I'm interested in still sitting on Q2 release dates though, plus Until Then), I'll probably get around to picking up Animal Well, Aeruta and maybe Star Leaping Story around then. Others like Plushie from the Sky, Gift and Master Key i'll probably wait for a sale on now.
okay i said those things but then i realised that one game that i'm pretty interested in had slipped under my radar till a couple of hours ago, and then one of my most anticipated releases of the year just borderline shadow dropped a couple of mins ago, so....................................................

welp

OK I was wondering why World of Goo 2 had no reviews yet, turns out it was delayed to August. And the delay was announced two weeks before this topic!
haha excellent. I was curious how it turned out too.
