Hello and welcome to all! I'm Luce and I shall be your host for this topic, along with Fluttershy & Raetsel, and any of our other accounts who may decide to show up this year. Due to all the chaos Fandom has been causing, I've made the decision to speed this ranking up and throw things into hyperdrive. Here are the key differences from our past Rankings:
1: As nominations are still open during the early stages of the ranking, we don't know how many songs we're actually ranking. The current count is 361, but that number could increase to virtual infinity if everyone uses their extra nominations & some newcomers join at the literal last minute.
2: All songs are getting at least two listens, as opposed to the old standard of at least three listens. With apologies, I want to try to get through this before Fandom has a chance to ruin anything else and I was too demoralized to go through with the original plan. This wildly experimental speed ranking has recharged my motivation so I'm happy with it, but I'll apologize in advance to anyone disappointed that songs are getting a bit less attention than previous years. (On the plus side, fewer listens freed us up to do this extra round of bonus nominations, so hopefully that eases the sting a bit.)
3: All song rankings are considered provisional until the last song has been eliminated. This was the case last year, but it goes double this time due to the experimental & live nature of the topic. Right now, songs only have a preliminary score based on first reactions and our opinion on songs typically varies wildly on repeat listens. Last year saw songs rise and fall hundreds of placements... so songs that have a very high initial score may actually be dropped so low that they ultimately place below songs that were eliminated earlier in the topic. Please bear with us during this process and thank you for your understanding.
4: At irregular intervals, we'll take a moment to look at some "extra songs" with personal significance. These extra songs are not considered part of the ranking and have no direct impact on anything, but allow us a chance to work through some feelings and share far more information than should ever be shared publicly. The following songs have write ups ready to be posted, so please don't waste a nomination slot on them:

Other songs may be added to this list. There's no real schedule for these things, so I suppose some extra songs and write ups will be posted whenever they happen to be posted. You're free to use extra noms on similar or related songs if you want, just not those exact four because they're sorta already here & so personally relevant that I don't feel comfortable having them in the main ranking.
5: #letter# designations:
This is a tab so important it actually gets bolded. At the start of certain write ups, you'll find a letter between two pound signs. These function as content warnings:
B: Mostly traumadumping. It means we've said something so personal that we don't want it saved on any archive sites. Please tread lightly if you must quote or respond to these stories.
C: Excessive in-character roleplaying, mostly in the form of arguments between the various accounts. These should be taken as somewhat tongue-in-cheek, it's not legitimate Dissociative Identity Disorder or anything serious, just... weird. There was a little of this at past topics, but most of the really unhinged things were redacted... though since this is probably the last ranking (I'm not betting on this board being here in a year), we're dialing up the insanity and leaving in long form conversations whenever a song resulted in one.
...The original plan was to post the full, unedited version of each write up & then edit them into a more palatable, sanitized version. So that the write up seemed normal from the outside, but you could click on the post history of a write up if you really wanted all the trauma & fighting. But honestly, I think the point of one big end of the world celebration where we stop holding things back & confess everything is that we don't waste our time on sanitized versions. So... yeah, if you want to avoid total insanity, just skip past the write ups with those tags. Or flee the topic now, which would likely be the sane response. *she quietly wishes she had her own signature shifty-eyed emoticon to add here, but refuses to use Raetsel's and lacks inspiration.*
