the actual mechanics themselves will matter more to my enjoyment than the graphics, but i'll definitely be playing this one.

All of the diehard LOTR fans I know personally are girls who would be into a game like this so I'm guessing a lot.

I think LOTR has a much larger female fanbase compared to other fandoms. Not saying these games are exclusively played by girls but I'd assume that's the majority too.

Yeah LotR is about as mainstream as it comes, and so are life sims. Theres going to be a lot of overlap.

Which just highlights how wild it is that there hasnt been a really huge high profile LotR game adaptation of any genre to hit the mainstream! It feels like the Mordor games could have been it but they shot themselves in the foot with the leadup to the sequel. So who knows, maybe this will be enormous!

I don't love the character models but if the game is fun enough that's fine, my sister will probably be hyped for this too

I'm intrigued but I don't know that the genre really does it for me at the moment. I didn't really fall in love with the Disney one and that should have been up my alley a bit.

The Disney one didn't seem to have the gameplay loop down from my limited exposure to it.

I'm hoping ToTS will be better in that regard
