Just as a completely unrelated sidenote.
Hey now, Fandom is a premiere supplier of plagiarized, unmaintained wikis boosted with SEO and flooded with ads on every page. Pretty sure society would have collapsed already without it.Don't forget about all the good old wikis they've bought out and changed to their awful interface!
If B8 disappears, I disappear along with it
Unless you're one of the like four B8ers who've been friends with me on Facebook I guess
This, basically. I left B8's Discord last summer and burned bridges with a few people in the process, including the creator of it.
Wouldn't be surprised if these forums are KO'd within the next 3 years at the rate Fandom is going.
Yeah, unfortunately it's not a bias free area. I wish that weren't the case.

Discord is good at what it is, but it's not a message board and would be a terrible replacement. There is a message board mode that works basically the same as here. But it has different quirks than what we are used to here. Still, it's a good option.
While true, I accept the repercussions of my voluntary departure from the Discord and won't pin it on anyone. It wasn't a good situation and I could've handled it better.
I'm friends on Facebook with a few (Swift, Stifled, Ulti, ExTha, Aria, YoBlazer, etc) and that's perfectly fine in the event this board goes under.
My heart is full, for BAIG is remembered.
According to Fandom, it turns people away seeing people argue about politics. But seeing them bitch about wokeness? Totally okay! Not going to drive anyone away.this post got me to check the home page for the current top Popular Topics and it's literally highlighting criticism from the biggest dumpster fire that is Steam forums about an evil "DEI activist" translator
this post got me to check the home page for the current top Popular Topics and it's literally highlighting criticism from the biggest dumpster fire that is Steam forums about an evil "DEI activist" translatorI took my once-every-couple-years trip to the game boards because of this post and I got like 15 posts into this topic before bailing. It didn't even get to anybody referencing the Steam forums.
I cannot say fuck fandom because my brother in law works for them but Ill readily say fuck DToast
For me the top topic showed is the Eiyuden Chronicle "I've been reading and they say the localization is terrible" one, the OP starts with imgur screenshots of a comment on Steam Forums (it's actually an imgur album embed, the "DEI activist" comment is on the 2nd slide)

Again, fandoms goal here wasn't to make this a safe place. It was to make sure bigots couldn't properly have their worldview questioned.
This is also the top topic on the nintendo switch board.I mean, yeah it's like case study #234756 of conservative techbro "inclusivity" which is just the newest brand of "you can't call out my speech but I can call out yours" previously, and still, known as "cancel culture."

Its a warped view of the term inclusivity.
This is also the top topic on the nintendo switch board.Tbh you could take these threads as evidence that yes, fandom needs to do something. But their continued existence is evidence that all Fandom is interested in is a performative statement

Tbh you could take these threads as evidence that yes, fandom needs to do something. But their continued existence is evidence that all Fandom is interested in is a performative statementThe thing is, the solution for this was the moderation system that was already in place.
That's why fuck fandom, yeah
