I heavily disagree, I think some of the most well-written and fleshed out characters in gaming are from the 2010s. I think maybe there's a point to argue that the characters haven't had a chance to reach "iconic" status yet but that doesn't make it a weak decade.

Okay, fair point, as I did mostly have "iconic" in mind. I'm a little biased against normal, humans. Ellie and Lee are good characters but their design is boring and not memorable compared to a Kratos or Dante, much less a Mario or Sonic.

(Don't ask me about Persona), skeleton, human tribal warrior, human cowboy, human time traveler, comic relief, human, human in fantasy setting, cartoon human, human, antrho cat, human I assume?, human, salarian, walking suit of armor, human in fantasy setting.

That's not too many "normal" humans, and the ones that are there are from interesting settings.

yeah, if your standard for good character is mascot platformer, newer characters aren't gonna do it for you as much

I don't expect other Borderlands characters to do well, especially after 3, which really made Lilith look bad, but Handsome Jack is one of the defining villains of all-time. (As near as I can tell, the only villains currently in are Wheatley and Armstrong.)

Anyway, if Sazh is already in -- which I think is kinda funny -- then we may as well try a late push for:
