"Don't be fooled by the pink / She is not playing dolls / She is stalking the halls / For the thrill of the kill"

This is a slightly better example of how the "villain song that's about the villain but not by them" can work. They're not mocking Regina like with Prince John and Scrooge, they're legitimately intimidated by her, which helps to boost her own threat level above the just slightly rude self-portrayal Regina gave in Meet the Plastics. The song is a warning, and while it still doesn't go super deep into Regina's characterization beyond the surface level, basically suggesting that she's vicious, self-absorbed and protective of her own power, you really start to get a little more of a picture of Regina.

The song is decent. There's something about the flow to it that doesn't quite flow for me, I think the rhyme scheme throws me off.

But then it's not entirely consistent with that either, and then you get the rhythm of / _ / _ / becoming / _ / _ /// for the "Apex Predator" line, which always feels rushed. It makes it more interesting I guess, but click with me, despite Moana doing great work on the vocals.
