Happy Caleb Williams Day, for all those who celebrate!

Firat year in too long the Broncos have a first round draft pick and I can't muster up any excitement for the draft.

Or next season.

Lions should go safety if they stay pat or go CB or edge if they try to move up

Zeke reuniting with Dallas

He was solid in NE last year and had a great attitude. I like Zeke as a player and it was really fun to have him on the team.
Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter?
Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards.
I am a fan of Zeke back to Dallas.

He's kinda washed, but he was still plenty solid for the dumpster fire that was New England last year, he should hopefully not be the main guy (even if Dowdle and Vaughn aren't actually good), his blocking is still top notch (why do you think we had him play Center lmao) and dammit, I just like the guy
Apparently stats did not support his blocking still being good. However I have not verified this or looked at any tape

Yeah, I'm honestly not a fan of the move. Dude's washed.

I guess it's nice that his final play as a Cowboy won't be that play at the end of the Niners playoff game anymore.

It would be a lot better if we had another decent RB for him to be the clear #2 to.

But I am not holding NE having a putrid O-Line, QBs and WRs against him when I say he might still have enough in the tank to be usable for a year.

(And, to be double clear, I am not saying that the Cowboys have a good RB room, even with Zeke. I am, however, saying he does improve it)
The Cowboys bringing back Zeke just tells me the running game is in trouble next year.

But I honestly have no enthusiasm for Dallas for the upcoming season. It just doesn't feel like they're serious about winning right now, and the window is about to slam shut.

Zeke wasn't bad in the passing game as a receiving back. He really shouldn't be the featured back for a team but in a committee style RB room, I think he's good. He had some good games for us. I don't think he was part of the problem, though yeah the pass blocking numbers are worse than I thought theyd be.

Dallas next year feels like a lot of the cracks they've managed to cover up in recent years will be exposed. We pretty much know that Zeke is done.

Yeah, if OBJ had anything left, the Ravens wouldn't have let him walk as easily as they did.

When you've got the chance to trade a top 5 WR to draft a guy who's missed most of his first two seasons due to injury, you've gotta do it.

Winfield also gets record deal for defensive backs. First time a safety has held the title. Just leaves Higgins as the only franchise tagged player yet to sign a long term extention. Likely won't happen barring a trade.

like Brad Holmes said it's a whole lot easier to worse at QB than it is to get better. The Lions are operating like the time is now and they'd ponied up the cash like big boy organizations do. Goff has a large sample size across 2 seasons now of playing excellent football and now he has to continue that.

i will say it's a bit unfair to put mahomes in that graphic because if you adjust for all the drops his wrs had it's like 7,000 yards / 83 tds it's that he got the numbers in that graphic in spite of them that makes him the goat

Goff being traded for Stafford was pretty close to a lateral move - Stafford just had a ton more experience and it showed.

Goff had an insane season when he lost in the super bowl to the Patriots. I don't think this is very surprising

Rodgers and the Jets get the MNF opener again this year, this time against the Niners

Smart to have them open on the road so Rodgers won't get injured playing on their awful turf right away again

The lions have accepted the reality of the NFL: even if you don't have a top tier QB (depending on how you feel about goff ofc), you just don't let that guy go if he's good, which goff def is. The position is the most valuable commodity in sports, if you overpay you overpay and deal with the consequences later.

I do think goff is always going to be undersold because of how rough his time in LA was, but I do think he's played beyond that being fair at this point. There are far worse gambles the lions could be taking (See: Cousins)
I'm a greener egg than the eggs from dr. seuss
It won't ever happen but I really wish they would do something about QB contracts. The disparity between QBs and everyone else is ridiculous. And yes it's the most important position but you have mid-tier or worse QBs (not talking about Goff) earning more than the best player at every other position.

Actually goaltender in the NHL is the biggest commodity. We've seen bad QBs make the Superbowl but you'll never see a bad Goaltender get near the Cup.

Also Netflix is getting two Christmas Day games.
