A little in the first few hours until I got a real grasp on all of the mechanics. Then I just learned to let things ride (once I was out of inspiration).
The only other abuse of systems I used was by the end of the game I was creating full on IEDs. Backpacks just stuffed with various bombs, fireworks, and runepowder. Chuck one deep and watch the mushroom cloud. Thinking about it, I may have been a terrorist. Freedom fighter, more like.
