Debated whether to include Castle Rock since it's probably known more for the books than the movies? But it's also the setting of so many horror movies so it didn't feel right leaving it off

I did leave off Raccoon City and Silent Hill though since those are 100% more known for the games than the movies
Khal Kirby , warlord of the Super Star Khalasar

Of those: Bates Motel. I would include the Exorcist & Chainsaw Massacre houses on there.
azuarc wasn't even home. he was playing Magic the Gathering at his buddy's store, which is extremely easy to verify
Before clicking, my first thought was the bathroom from Saw. I was thinking smaller scale as a location I suppose, where the location interacts directly with the characters.
Bells, bells, bells!
Elm Street since it's in the movie title

Ultimately I considered these ended up leaving them off because I couldn't realistically come up with a name of the locations beyond "Chainsaw Massacare house," which I feel like is enough to cement them not being #1

another big consideration was "The Blair Witch woods" but they got left off for the same reason

The SAW bathroom was a huge omission
If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?

Saw is one of my favorites but that honestly didn't even cross my mind as a consideration. I mean it's iconic for sure but is it really on the same level?

Easily over half of these.

I don't even think most people could tell you what series Haddonfield goes to.

Saw is one of the top 5 most successful horror film franchises, with 10 movies in the series. The bathroom was the main location for the first film, and has been revisited a few times in some of the sequels. Being one of the most modern long running horror franchises, it has easy recognition, especially for younger generations. I think it is iconic enough to be considered.
Bells, bells, bells!
fleet street maybe
Gonna go with Castle Frankenstein, specifically the laboratory
pepsi for tv-game
It's really pretty tough. I went with Camp Crystal Lake since it was the first set that came to mind. Haddonfield is really meant to be an Anytown, USA, and the same goes for Elm Street. Psycho doesn't come immediately to mind when I think of horror movies, but that might be down to growing up in the 80s.
I went with camp crystal lake, but really because teenagers in a campground is so iconic to the genre, but now that I think about it, there are certainly more recognizable images from the Overlook Hotel.
Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig.

Bates Motel for sure, maybe specifically the Bates House even. Either way two visually striking locations.

Camp Crystal Lake's name is iconic but it doesn't really have any defining landmarks or recognizable iconography really. Sometimes the movies can't even decide what part of the country it's in.
I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.

It has a name - The Black Hills Forest

I was expecting this topic to be more generic locations, like "mad scientist lab" or "cemetery."
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.
