With Road Comedies wrapped up, time to start looking ahead for 2024

I still have Crime 2: Disorganized Crime ready to go whenever, but Organized Crime ran fairly recently so I'm perfectly fine waiting on that one

I know @StifledSilence had planned Westerns 2 and @Snake5555555555 had planned War (or another list) if either of those would want to go next

I know some other lists were thrown around like Biopics and @BetrayedTangy had a "Movies About Movies" list

The last few lists in the rotation were:
Snake - 2010s Horror
Johnbobb - Organized Crime
BetrayedTangy - Satire
Karo - Animation IV
DarkX - Road Comedies

Also keep in mind, if anyone has been participating but hasn't hosted before and wants to, you'll get priority if you want it.

I'd like to throw out biopics as a suggestion, and Johnbobb said that we might even be able to narrow that down to a specific kind, ie musician biopics, which honestly I would love to participate in.

Whoops, I missed you when I was tagging!

I'd definitely be down for Biopics if you wanted that in the queue. I couldn't remember if you had proposed it or if someone else had

I could see myself hosting 80s horror if people were into it. I know I haven't participated in the last few but I'd definitely be down for coming back for that. I'd have to put together a fresh list though.

I haven't, no. It's not important to me when we do it. I don't have a list of 30 movies prepared right this moment but I might be able to put one together over the next few days if no one else wants to/is ready to do another topic atm.

Maybe I'm biased but I'm definitely down for 80s horror

btw the local indie theater near me does a monthly fright night and recently announced they'll be playing Cemetery Man soon, very excited to go watch that again

I enjoyed the two I've participated in but there are a lot of genres that I'm not interested in enough to commit that much time to.
I would almost definitely get in on anything horror.

Sounds like 80s horror is probably the best bet for next, and then likely Art Movies after if Snake and Evil are both cool with that?

Ive only taken part in one but I would like to put forward Legacy Sequels at a certain point because A) theres more than enough of them now and B) it would be a good excuse to throw in some of the lesser known early ones like The Color of Money and Psycho II.

I agree, especially since CH has real animal deaths as well. I really hate that aspect of it and I for sure understand how hard that is to stomach.

I'd be interested to see people's reactions/opinions on CH but I wouldn't want to make someone watch it if they haven't seen it yet. Even if you can tolerate some fucked up horror, that one's on another level so I'd vote no

Yeah, my initial gut reaction is that if we are truly ranking the biggest horror movies of the 80s, CH pretty much has to be included. But I think Johnbobb is right and if you include it, you're going to lose a couple of people who would've participated otherwise. So probably no.

It can be an honorary 31st place which is where it would've ranked.

Me too. And for the record I personally don't actually dislike the movie (it would probably place pretty low for mebecause this list is quality imo) I just disagree with some less-than-savory aspects of the production while also acknowledging that is part of why the movie has such a mystique and is as well-known as it is now.
