the fact that the game switches to being about mechs later.This doesn't really happen fwiw. There's still plenty of non-mech battling later on, and they're not a focus of the plot or anything. I'm enjoying the game a great deal! I'd suggest trying the prologue at least to see if there's anything there for you.
