I never saw the anime but man the live action was amazing. I cant wait for season 2! It compelled me to sift through the anime and from what I saw, the anime pales in comparison. Then again, I watched a cumulative five minutes of it up through what was covered in the live action.

Yeah that definitely isn't going to be a good judge of the anime.

At least watch some flashback or battle eps to see the difference.

But yeah the Live Action was really good.

Ive watched the first 118 episodes. I absolutely loved the live action. It has renewed my interest in tackling watching 1000+ episodes. I want to know what happens next, without spoiling myself. Though I know things like Gear 5 cause internet.

This is a remarkable reception for something nobody had any expectations for. You can blame the Cowboy Bebop adaptation I guess, but before release the most you'd see was a begrudging compliment like "The sets look pretty good."
