I had a beagle mutt that I rescued for 17 years that passed during the pandemic from bone cancer.
My roommate has a dachshund mutt that he rescued that's about 11 now.
The beagle was the wise old dog for the dachshund, now we hope he'll be the wise old dog for the corgi.
(Corgi was also a rescue. Well her mom was the rescue who was pregnant at the time)
