Carol is a really solid all-around character
Magik I feel like is kinda weak at first but once you start getting better cards for her (most notably,
the one that does a bunch of damage every time someone goes through a portal
) and building up her passive, she becomes pretty much unmatched when it comes to controlling the battlefield
