They had a regular season last year, in between the specials. It was only 6 episodes long though.

And I'm wondering how long this will be, wikipedia gives no indication and thefutoncritic only lists airdates for 3 episodes. I wonder if this will be a 6 episode one too?

Considering how many "movies" they owe Paramount+ as part of their deal I assume short seasons surrounded by "movies" would be the new status quo unless told otherwise...

Yeah. There's two movies per year in addition to the season, and they're about an hour long each, so altogether it's about the same amount of content as the 10-episode seasons had.
